If the rain is due Friday the worst of it will be over before the headliners. I think thats what most people were worried about.

Friday is looking horrendous on the BBC weather app.

The guy on the local BBC forecast said "there is a lot of uncertainty regarding the location of this front (the one threatening the heavy rain), some models have it as far south as Spain". Given how far Spain is away, it shows they have no idea, plus it also means we could get off scott free!

I'm just going to assume everyone is currently forecasting the worst case scenario and is adjusting accordingly the closer the days come, thats why Thursday suddenly seems fine

I'd say going on forecasts at the moment it's welly time. However, it all changes so quickly so I'd prepare for anything and everything.

Yeah massive storm in Letchworth earlier as well. Absolutely chucking it down for ages. Hope that is the low pressure raining itself out a few days early!

If the answer is yes to both of these then your walking boots neeednt ever be replaced by wellies.

This - I've never worn wellies (apart from trips to the toilets in the middle of the night) and always been fine, including 97, 2005, 2007. (Good) walking boots every time!

I got through both 05 and 07 in walking boots, so no where near yet. I only put Wellies on in 07 to leave site as I couldn't face pulling my mud encrusted boots back on.

Accuweather is showing very little rain for Pilton until next Wednesday. Just 5mm on Friday essentially.
