For me it's all about Saturday. We know the taps are going to come on late Thursday night / early Friday morning, then a break before starting up for most of Friday afternoon and evening.

If - and it's a big if - things dry off from that point onwards then the underfoot carnage should be bearable.

Would sit square in the middle between 2013 and 2011 in terms of what hits you from above and what you have to walk through below.

To tell you the truth based on what I've seen it woudln't surprise me if the forecast on the Beebs website for the weather on Thurs/Fri/Sat changes to overcast Wednesday night.

Oh god, I've just caught up in this all in one go. Nerves shot to pieces, confused, possibly delerious. Still not clear what's actually happened. Can someone just tell me I've got this right:

  1. Significant differences between the forecasts still
  2. Rain is a certainty
  3. How much rain, or if the rain will be prolonged or showery, is less certain
  4. It's not looking very sunny - mainly overcast
  5. It might be a bit chilly at night
  6. There's a faint glimmer that this could change again
  7. Several people have got engaged to CaledonianGonzo

The only certainty is that CaledonianGonzo has got engaged to several people

So, setting off in about 30 mins (or less).

Can't make sense of any of this.

Am wearing my sandals. Have also packed into the car sneakers, walking boots and wellies.

Will decide in the morning which of these to take into site with me.

You will be fine tomorrow, the uncertainty begins Thursday evening.

Hey, a direct reply from the mallard - I'm not worthy!!!

I'll check this thread in the morning to see the latest. Push comes to shove I'll do what I've never done in my 13 previous Glastos - go back to the car to get something I've left behind.

Enjoy

:-)

As long as you can sit on most of the ground without it being muddy i'll be happy. I cant be bothered carting round one of them millets chairs around for the whole weekend again either. Must have bought around 10 last time it rained as they kept getting stolen/lost!

Definitely don't want 30 degrees either as you cant sleep in later than 6am and it completely drains you.

Overcast and 20 degrees, just a touch of rain to make the ground soft, sorted :)

Bring Bin Liners if you want to sit down, from the looks of things the will be points when the ground is muddy (based on the latest forecasts) but nothing a bin liner wont fix.

Apart from that I'm not fussy! ;-)

All of a sudden and for no apparent reason a warm glow of optimisation has engulfed me. I've accepted it'll rain on the friday but im also certain it won't lead to armagedon and balls up everything for the entire weekend.

I remember walking around last year on the friday morning early doors and thinking it looked like a disaster zone everywhere. That turned out great and so will this. I refuse to believe anything different from this point onwards
