so from my investigations were looking at a possible mud bath huh?

Anyone else got any better offers?

Bloody hell!!!

Visiting ONE website with a very negative forecast != research at all

What a way to give everyone a downer. Check any other website for a better offer.

12.1mm isn't too bad? That's a total and utter mudbath! Edit: Sunday is ruined too.

Won't happen though, I bet 10 pints of cider on it.

I don't equate 12.1mm of rain to a mudbath. You could get that much rain in a prolonged overnight shower . It would most likely be absorbed by the following afternoon . ( he says optimistically)

Slight shower: Less than 2 mm per hour.
Moderate shower: Greater than 2 mm, but less than 10 mm per hour.
Heavy shower: Greater than 10 mm per hour, but less than 50 mm per hour.
Violent shower: Greater than 50 mm per hour.

It gives no indication of rate when it says 12.1mm
'Tis bollocks anyway

I think it was for the whole day. If it was every hour, then I stand by my mud bath comment!

So to give me a bit of an indication how much rain fell on Thursday last year

I'm going to get into trouble for bumping you guys, but I think it was about 10mm.

Just check the other forecasts too, there's plenty better than that. This far out it's a pointless guesstimate anyway - they can't be exact with the rain tomorrow let alone in three weeks time

higher/lower pressure, northerly/southerly jetstream, bad/good systems nearby is as clear as it gets at this distance

we're currently trending towards higher pressure and very little rain for the next three weeks.

for those wanting graphs - if you go here and click on glastonbury's (or your) location it will come up with a window showing a confusing graph.

It shows the output from the big weather model GFS which is run many times to try and average out any errors - all the different runs are shown as different coloured lines - the more the lines converge the more certain that event is

In the text at the bottom there's a linke saying "pression RR" if you click this then the top line is pressure, the bottom rainfall. you can also click "Temp 2m" for predicted air temps

Keep checking until you get a good one? No rain, no compromise eh?

Personally, all reports are welcome, even if they are rubbish!

And that was over what, 4 hours? I would take that as a worst case scenario (even though it's bollocks ect ect)

It rained from mid afternoon (4pm) till about 8-9pm from memory. Everyone then suddenly went out and it got a bit boggy in places - the park for example was wreaked.

Dried out by midday next day but ground was then much harder underfoot.

i know it's not in the NFR, NFC spirit but 'a little light rain' sounds just lovely in comparison to some of these forecasts, so i'd take that. come on summer! use your goddam charm and give us a good'un

Ha, we've reached the point we reach every year where people start bargaining themselves down! Coping with the prospect of bad weather at glastonbury is much like the five stages of grief:

1. Denial

2. Anger

3. Bargaining

4. Depression

5. Acceptance
