At this stage it's all about the ensembles, for the next week to 10 days there looks to not be too much deviation in their outputs, meaning we can assume with reasonable confidence that pressure will increase in the south west from. This Wednesday and remain stable until about 17th. After this pion there is quite a wide range of deviation the ensembles meaning that confidence in any forecast from this point on is not particularly high. It's worth pointing out that the +ve outlook currently being forecast for the festival period is based on the operational output which shows air pressure to be in the upper range of the ensembles output an much above the mean.

Here is some science for you:

Monday 23 June—Sunday 6 July An uncertain outlook with two competing scenarios

Northwesterly winds are most likely to persist with temperatures near normal.

There remains a lot of uncertainty about the overall pressure pattern over the UK, however there are two main competing scenarios;

Firstly, high pressure persists with mostly dry weather and a few showers in the northwest.

Alternatively a slow moving area of low pressure could form over the UK bringing heavy downpours of rain and a wet end to the month.

In summary... It might be dry or it might rain. Basically we don't have a clue.

I was on holiday in the Lake District a few weeks ago, and they couldn't get the weather right one day in advance (they predicted non stop rain on one day and in the end it hardly rained at all).

Had exactly this, this weekend. All week forecasters were predicting biblical rain and storms for the whole weekend, in the end we had a lovely morning on Saturday, followed by a crap afternoon of heavy rain and a beautiful evening with yesterday being mostly warm and dry with the exception of one brief heavy shower at lunch time. I know this as I was cycling from Whitehaven to Newcastle so can say with great authority, I was very happy that yesterday's forecast was so far off the mark! :)

Anyway, I'll believe the Glastonbury weather forecast when I unzip my tent and peer out bleary eyed each morning!

Yesterday in Bristol it hurled it down, twice and we got very wet despite waterproofs.

The forecast was for maybe an isolated very light shower!!

It was but latest ones showing a downgrade from then.

Watching the weather from this far out really can see predictions change 2 / 3 times in a day!

And that is why doing what you're doing causes the rollercoaster ride - you gotta average out what it says at that range, just look at trends

across the full 21 runs there's very little agreement at the end, most predict some little lows at some point, could fall at varying dates. don't get hung up on one run
