Weather

Surely that whole thread is harmless. just a bit of a joke, they're all pretty friendly on there too to be honest. From what I've seen , it isn't all just "NFR NFC" aha.

No, they also like to say what the weather is like where they live. For some reason.

Don't really understand the hostility between this thread and NFR NFC. It's only a bit of a laugh, yet some people are seriously wound up by a few people 'praying to weather gods' :P

I check Jackone's forecasts, charts etc. but also have a laugh in the NFR NFC thread. When will you people learn that religion and science can live in harmony?

Well said.

Been on these forums for quite a few years now and have always enjoyed the build up on this thread, unfortunately not this year as part of the other thread and really don't feel welcome this year.

I hope this will not be a sign of how the festival will become, really hate hostility and the them and us, in my opinion there is nothing better than the random encounters you get with people once on site.

Let's hope 2015 will be back to normal and happiness will come back.

Peace and love everyone, back to the other thread, sorry to post in this thread but accidentally clicked in here and saw the above post.

Here are the total mm's of rain from the sites that are currently forecasting wed-sun.

2qk5rfp.jpg

More sites will be added as they cover the whole festival, and I'll start doing a graph from tomorrow.

If we take 10mm of rain to = 2013, then 6 out of 7 sites are forecasting 2014 to be better than 2013.

That said, yesterday looked pretty bad, so it may fluctuate a lot until a couple of days before the festival.

So, do you consider yourself a Scientist or Pagan? I feel welcome on both threads, even though I don't do any bumping. It's nice to be able to have a thread for any old bobbins. It's not a weather thread IMHO, much more like campfire chat.

Agreed latest GFS is looking better, I think yesterday's GFS 06Hz Operational should have been taken as a complete outlier as none of the other runs or ensambles are looking anywhere near that bad. To me the way things have been progressing lately we're looking at overcast/sunny intervals/showers type weather ATM. Not as good as some other years, but nothing to indicate a full on mudbath.

Nice, looking forward to it (or not, depends on how much it fluctuates I guess!)

Lovely work guys, has calmed my nerves somwhat (for now anyway!). Good to compare rainfall levels; I find it really useful to compare to weather types for recent years - talks of 'mudbath' or 'no mudbath' doesn't really represent what tends to actually happen - which is a pick n' mix of all sorts of weather, along with varying types of mud and mud-drying speeds which impact on things.

Yesterday, it sounded very much like we were heading for a 2011.

Today, it is feeling more like we are backing off to a 2013 or even a 2008 position (perhaps slighly optimistically).

Hopefully we are some way off a 2005 or 2007 and, sadly, the 2010 gold standard isn't really on the radar at the moment. (Although never say never :superstition: )

Imagine just going "NFR NFC" on a loop for, what is it now?, five or six years.

Surely you'd get a bit fed up with it at some point.

This lot have been saying

"Will it? Won't it? You don't know until the Sunday before. Must watch Countryfile." for the same length of time.

Surely you'd get a bit fed up of it at some point.

We had 10mm of rain on Thursday evening last year and the site was dry by midday the following day. I'd say it's much drier this year than last.. ideally a bit of rain Tuesday to dampen the dust and make the ground better for tent pitching would be ideal.

Absolute scorcher of a day in Bristol today..

And at the top of the same page on the Weather Thread...

Casting my eye out of the window, the sky across Somerset is gin blue, it's another beautiful day here in the Heart of Wessex :D
