UK Outlook for Monday 23 Jun 2014 to Wednesday 2 Jul 2014:

High pressure will continue to bring fine weather to southern and western parts through Monday with good sunny spells. It will be cloudier in the north and east with showery rain over Scotland moving southwards across eastern areas through the day. Feeling warm or very warm in the south and southwest, but cooler in the north and northeast. Mainly fine throughout the week with sunny spells, but turning cloudier from the west into Friday. Temperatures near or a little above average, after a cool start in the northeast, and it will be warmer further southwest. Thereafter, there is an increased chance of some rain across northern and western parts, but with fine weather persisting across the southeast, but some rain could affect all parts by the end of the period.

but was so very very different to the one for Pilton... hence saying they really have no idea.

Its perfectly possible to have different weather in the two areas. We have heavy rain in Bristol sometimes when in work yet at home no more than a couple of miles away its bone dry.

It is when there are showers in the forecast but these forecasts were one for showers and one for heavy and constant rain..... the weather front must be very precise.

"The Met Office is more hopeful about the weather for Glastonbury Festival 2014 with the forecast looking dry.

The music festival in Somerset has often been known for its wet weather but this year is looking like it might be a drier event.

Although the sun may not shining everyday forecasters believe the temperatures will be mild and sunny spells will break through the cloudlb_icon1.png.

Laura Young, from the Met Office, said: "Looking aheadicon1.png at this stage we can say that it is looking more settled than initially thought."

Re, Glastonbury GFS 06z. All change.

Dropping the low west of Ireland and for the Thursday, Friday Saturday has HP SW of Ireland giving a dry, tranquil three days. The only wet area is Scotland as a low skirts around north of there.

Was in Tesco today (other supermarkets are available) and took my headphones off out of courtesy while I paid for my stuff, just caught the end jingle of the weather forecast, then the presenter saying something along the lines off "Oooh, anybody off to Glastonbury will be very happy with that". I take it as solid proof that it will be glorious all weekend (maybe cloudy in the morning time so I don't cook in my tent).

Can anyone remember a year with a similar build-up to this? I can't.

2005. Was great and then turned into a disaster.

This year is going to be a disaster too. I know, it, you know it and Eavis knows it. Big thunderstorm, site gets flooded, we all churn up the site and we're fucked.

Really hope not but I'd like them to get a bit of rain soon as statistically the longer we go without rain the greater the probability that it will occur. It is in Britain after all.
