Peter Gabriel?

then you've not seen peter for at least ten years.

He's dreadfully dull nowadays.

Oh I don't know Neil. That thing he does with the prism at the end of San Jacinto is cutting edge (at least it is where I live) :)

Oh dear. Those are are my probably my 2 favourite artists. Guess I need to find a more slippers and cardigan focussed festival site!

I went out of my way quite significantly to see Peter Gabriel the first time I saw him*, and disappointed by the dullness is an understatement.

But you're allowed to like what you like, and allowed your opinions. Just as i'm allowed mine. :)

(* that's "the first time I saw him perform". I'd actually met him twice previous to that, to the extent that the 2nd time I got a nod and an "alright mate" from him. :)).

Digging this ancient thread out from the bowels of the universe to say that the first night of the i/o Tour - currently ongoing in Poland - has a setlist that will leave those who forked out £200 severely regretting their life choices.

It is wild, and not necessarily in a good way.

Doesn't seem that wild to me... It is after all billed as the i/o tour, and if the album had already come out, the material would be a lot more familiar. But there's not loads of stuff form the back catalogue that is obviously absent. I suspect most casuals would know Solsbury Hill and So and not much else.

I'd be more than happy with that set-list. The tracks released so far from the new album are cracking and rest of the set-list are pretty much all familiar to fans.

As he was the first person I saw live, I would love for him to make an appearance this year but the setlist would be immaterial really as tbh I haven't kept up with his stuff.

There's not a whole lot to catch up on really. He hasn't issued any new albums for years (but hasn't exactly been idle in that time 🙂).

It was the first night last night. Will look out for the reviews.
