Is this the full line up?

Do you reckon this is pretty much the full line up now esp from Calling Out and Main Stage? I'm still holding out for some more indie! There's never enough indie! haha

I would guess there's still a fair amount to come, the calling out stage usually has around 30 to 34 bands over the 3 days. If you're after indie that's where you'll find it.

Can't imagine there will be many more major names listed for it though, you might get a few if your lucky !

Seen idlewild a few times over the years and enjoyed them every time, been a few years since I saw them though

They are doing an acoustic tour at the moment so hope they come, love Roddy's solo stuff also and would be a great addition to a smaller stage.

Actually I think the last time I saw them was at Kendal calling in 08 I think, was the reason I first went to kendal calling.

If you want a rough idea of how many bands to expect on each stage by day here's a link to last years daily stage line up. It doesn't tend to change that much from year to year in the amount of bands appearing by day.

They're pretty much repeating same format from other years, until the final announcements are made its hard to judge how indie it'll be.

I am still devastated by the Frank Turner thing, There was talk of New order, the manics and we get frank turner and example!! Kendal calling is predominately an indie/rock festival (ceratinly for the last 5 years or so) so would have expected more bands on the main stage to be honest

I agree on frank turner utter gash as a headliner but c'mon indie is old fart the mix is better this year . You indie fans have always got Tim peaks to hang around in and get aroused !

I'm not going this year cos I'm sick of it always looking after the old farts !

dear god, people moan on here about suede and example ! I repeat again, I saw him play to about 50 people about 15 months ago, 3rd on the bill behin jake bugg and findlay at an academy 2 gig. Worlds gone mad or he needs to buy his promtional and management team the fattest cigars in the world !

Indie isn't dead, There's a whole host of new bands on the seen, getting recognised on radio and many other festivals. Its just Kendal Calling has decided to ignore most of them!

I agree lots of New young bands flying about at the minute, they seem to be playing most festivals and all Kendal have got from the bunch is Catfish and the Bottlemen, even though they are the best of the bunch, there should at least be 2 or 3 more of the new breed that are breaking though. This year the Bottlemen, Circa Waves and Darlia have all been getting regular airplay on radio 1 and I haven't known that to happen for small indie bands in a long time, they are the ideal bands you want to see at festivals, before they breakthrough. I noticed they have gone for hell of a lot female fronted acts for the Calling Out and most of them seem very similar. Could of maybe done with half of them and filled up a bit with the likes of Circa Waves, Darlia and Dexters.

Yup good point. Really like catfish, Seen them in Edinburgh a couple of times. As Ive said in other threads add to that list Toy, Hookworms, Temples, Peace, Eagulls. Drenge, We were Promised Jetpacks all playing similar sized festivals, not one at kendal

I found Drenge pretty poor and left after a few songs to watch A Plastic Rose in the calling out who were one of the highlights of my weekend. Was hoping they'd be on again this year.
