I don't think The Strokes will tour. Not enough festivals left to justify it and their only shows are hometown. If Morrissey would play he would more suit the Sunday although I do think Paolo will headline.

What happened to Eminem rumours? Spanish fan forums say he has a Spanish show to announce for July 17th and Tinie would be a good sub for him. Not sure how reliable that is though.

They're doing a gig in New York now, then a festival in August in LA. At the festival The Strokes are playing one day and a AHJ solo show on a separate day of the festival. It seems weird to get back together to do 2 shows, 2 months apart, A few European dates in between would make sense, especially when AHJ is going to be in Europe anyway. Optimus Alive are looking for a headliner around the same time as Beni and it doesn't look like they will be getting the Libs.

Beni announcing the Libertines proved they had no-one lined up before it and jumped at the opportunity when it came up. This Strokes thing makes sense, It doesn't look like Casablancas has anything lined up in July so, not unlike the Libertines, why knock back the cash when the band is back together anyway. It probably won't happen, but it's not unreasonable. Eminem seems a bit ambitious, they already have 2 big headliners I doubt they would have 3

About the facilities in the camps:

Villa camp has flushing toilets, shade and individual shower cubicles etc.

IMO well worth the extra few quid.

Individual shower cubicles? Now where is the fun in that? Not fused about flushing toilets as that is what restaurants in town are for!

I doubt the Libertines would have been all that cheap. I also doubt they are doing much price matching to the previous festivals. Kasabian roughly match the Killers in terms of popularity in Europe. I'd say the Killers definitely edge it, but lets face it, Mr Brightside was a few years ago now and they really haven't surpassed it. and the Libertines are equal to, if not better than the Arctic Monkeys. I wouldn't say QOTSA are exactly Eminem big. Maybe it will be Eminem. I sincerely hope not as he is utter shite live. It just seems like it would be a hell of a lot of money to shell out for a headliner when you're not in the best financial state and already have a fairly solid line-up. A band like the Strokes or someone like Morrissey would seem a more intelligent get.

And Libs got a lot for BST but they admitted it's all for money. They got their big paycheck for Hyde Park and this is just another lot on top of that. I doubt Beni paid them nearly what they're getting for BST.

Anyone else watch Coldplays headline set at radio 1 big weekend? Not a huge Coldplay fan but look really good. They are free on the 20th and doing a bit of touring between now and then. Could possibly close the festival.

Line up is looking brilliant, most excited about Kasabian and Libs. Wouldnt be arsed about seeing Coldplay as they would do mostly new stuff which is TERRIBLE / I'd still go see them if they were announced like. A good addition would be Biffy Clyro, seen them at Leeds Fest last year and V Fest the a few years back, real good band! Would love another headliner to be announced as I don't think P.N and Tinnie deserve them slots (that is of course if they have them!)

Think it was 3 euros for a little beer or 9 for a liter. Spirits were 6 euros for a single 9 for a double and thats with a mixer.

Then in the campsite 1.5l of water was 3 euros and ice was 3 euros for a bag. water was 3 euros in the arena bit for a shitty little bottle but you could refill it from a warm tap

Fair call. To be honest I would prefer Lana Del Rey to headline over Eminem. Eminem is so bad live and it would take the shine off the Libertines.

Where as a smaller headliner would put the spotlight on the libs as they're the major act

Depends on who the final headliners are. Arctic Monkeys and Black Keys are solid but the rest of their line-up blows. To me Chromeo and Temples are the only other two worth seeing. Maybe Booka shade for the few minutes they play 'in white rooms'. If they fail to get the Libs or Prince and end up with the same final headliner as Beni, then I would say Beni edges it on the music front.

Watching radioo 1 big weekend. So far from what I've seen, royal blood need to be at beni, Paulo nutini wasn't bad but no headline act, kasabian are killing it!
