Caught about 5 minutes of them at Reading in 2011, awful, really don't deserve to be headliners anymore outside of the US.

Last album was naff aswell.

i had to put up them at a Foo's gig at old trafford , but walked when they played Beni

Looks like they're trying to get headliners but are struggling.

It's proper weird, them saying "we're not allowed to talk" makes me think its something confidential.

Then again, it probably means that they don;t any answers thats why they won't talk.

It's not weird it's normal booking process they can't announce anyone before they are given permission from band's manager. If they give only a hint it can lead to big problems because this booking business is based on good relations between managers and bookers and they can lose the band they are trying to get and all future deals can be in jeopardy.

Exactly, and prices and clauses will be in contracts also, if you want a big band that much, they can dictate timing of release (especially if they have their own tour tickets to sell first).

Unfortunately though that doesn't really provide any more clues, if someone was going to be the 3rd (or 4th headliner) but was making them wait until they sold their own tour then they would have to announce pretty quickly otherwise it will have minimal impact for benicassim on ticket sales, unless they are backed in to such a corner!!

It is worrying that they are putting the price of tickets up now, but seem to still be unable to announce a headliner (either due to contracts or they just havent got anyone) to really push the sales.

I think Eminem (not really my taste) or maybe Coldplay would be enough to shift a few more tickets for them, but if the likes of Biffy or the Strokes were announced would they make that much of a dent on ticket sales?

From what I heard, booking process of big bands can take 2-3 months sometimes more from the first contact. There is the biggest problem that they started with booking pretty late because of the changes in management. So if there will be more headliners they have to be in talks with them for few weeks now.

Some people mentioned that libertines was a rush buy but there is big possibility that they have been in contact with them for few months beni has the same organizer as Reading, TITP and V festival right? They definitely know about libertines reunite before it was made public.

There was message on fb or twitter that next announcement will come in few days so it makes sense if they putting the price up today and then in two days there will be a big name who can shift ticket sales and beni will get more money.

Why is that? There's just me and the missus and I was going to get a 5/6 man tent thinking it would be a slightly bit more comfortable rather than being squashed up with all our bags and that?

Well, good luck with that. As much as I have moaned about the camping before, the biggest mistake by a mile was having so many of us inside the same tent.
