would like to see The Horrors, Peace and around 5/6 more bands that sorta size and genre, think foster the people would be a class addition and would definitely make the line up look more appealing but think maybe they're just a bit too big

yeah i really would like peace and horrors, would like to see palma violets, mac demarco, london grammar and wolf alice. What'd be the chance of maybe flaming lips or mercury rev?

I think there are two possible explanations as to why we are still waiting for the announcement. First would be that they were going to add a few more Spanish bands/DJs to fill the line up and when they saw the backlash online they have panicked and rushed to get a couple more middle of the road acts (the 1975 sort of standard.) The second is they have royally messed up and haven't even got the smaller Spanish bands and DJs sorted. Either way, the organisation of the festival is appalling.

I'm not overly fussed as the line up is only a small part of the festival but one of the largest European festivals shouldn't have an incomplete line up with less than a month to go.

Didn't take my phone last year but was contemplating it this year for pictures etc as its smaller than my digital camera. I've noticed on the site they do lockers and also power banks but when you go to payment it says '1 dis' did anyone use these last year or anything?

Mokes i have emailed them weeks ago but nothing still

They're fucking idiots, I followed it up but got nothing again.

For those playing along, does anybody know what the official rules on SLR cameras are? Obviously not advisable but for those who like to walk on the wild side are they actually allowed in the arena?

Same question goes towards Gazebos in the camp sites.. UK festivals don't let you have them but does anybody know if Beni does? Surely in the searing sun they would be cool with people bringing their own shelter...

Thirdly, cheerio Com Truise. Dick. Well played Kalusha.

Finally, is anyone else worried that the festival itself will be as shambolic as the organisation of the line-up is. Theoretically the festival should run itself- Paella, Sun, Beach, Music, Beer and a week of it at that. But, they have already fucked up the lockers, as well as cocking up the Villacamp thing and moving it like 3 kms away. People are saying the line-up is only a small part of it but they seem to be fucking up more than the line-up. It's like they have sacked everyone with any experience and let a bunch of unpaid interns have a crack. Seeing they have raised the price of the easy camp "setted up tent" things from 70 to 110 euro as well as upping the ticket prices. I can only assume they will up the price of everything else at the festival to try and make as much back as they can. Ticket sales will surely be non existent now with the amount of cheap tickets people are flogging on ebay combined with Tinie tempah and Paolo Nutini as headliners. Surely anyone considering going purely for the Libs would now choose to go to Optimus as you also get the Black Keys and the Arctic Monkeys and its way cheaper. I'm slightly worried they are going to milk the shit out of everything at the festival and make it a total marketing expo.

Either way we still get Paella, Sun, Beach, Music and Beer I which will be nice.

Mokes - I've always taken a Gazebo to festivals in the UK, never been asked to take it down. Never been to Beni before but I'm guessing (hoping) they are gunna be pretty relaxed.

Yeah you're allowed at UK festivals, they just don't like it.

at IOW I was made to take mine down like 6 times until it was torrential rain and I had it over my tent to stop it leaking, then it was to wet for them to bother coming over to make me take it down.

Oxegen (while not the UK) was the same with the people around me. I just figured they were all like that. I can see absolutely no reason why they wouldn't be allowed though. If people are sensible enough to bring one let them use it. I will take one and chance it.

Any idea how expensive a city Barcelona is for beer and that? Could you compare it to London? Doing a day there before the fest and 2 nights there after it...

Slightly cheaper with booze, food is also but then if you're on La Ramblas then you'll be paying a lot more than other places! Head to the old town to the right of La Rambla as you look at it on a map and there are lots of small bars and restaurants in the backstreets that are cheap and much better than the tourist trap central areas.

It doesn't seem as bad as London. We are having a night there beforehand (plan was to watch Spain win the world cup.....) and some time after to manage the comedown after the festival.

Same as me pal, heard it's cheaper than London (thank fuck for that)

Booked hostels for about £12 a night as well which isn't too bad.

As has been said, stay of Las Ramblas and you'll have a cheap night.

Find a little supermarket and you can get big bottles of San Miguel for less than a euro

Going out is a bit more expensive as (good) clubs can sometimes charge a bomb, but if you pop down to the beach you will definitely find someone offering cheap/free guestlist

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are playing in Spain the week building up to Benicassim then playing in Italy on Saturday. They could and should be booked for the Thursday. Would be a great addition...

Subbed last year, can't say I'd want them back so soon, rather someone the same size who didn't play that recent.

I remember all the fuss last year about it nearly being cancelled 2 weeks before it was due to start, and thinking "That'll never happen, not with all the great bands they've got booked". If the rumour surfaced this year though, I think I'd be a lot more worried! Surely there must be an announcement for the rest of the acts today. It's only 4 weeks away!!
