yeah you may be right - if i remember correctly it did wonders for Beady Eye last year (well, for like a week, until everybody remembered they were shit again). and what with Florence already having at least one date booked it wouldn't be like an act coming out of retirement / shocking people with their live return - she's already about. why not?

'Why not' indeed. And if, as some on here suspect, they're being lined up for one of the three headline slots for Glasto '15 then what better way to test the waters.

still reckon Coldplay are the most likely, myself. how their ever reliant on light shows live show would work at 11am i'm not sure, but their new album is rather stripped back and they're playing smaller than usual venues at the moment, gathered with being huge friends of the festival

yeah Florence, Foos or Coldplay are where my imaginary money's at. if it's one of the former two then i'd be surprised to not see them return in 2015 to headline off the back of their new album (although what with Fleetwood Mac already seemingly lined up, having Florence - Stevie Nicks Jr - headline would seem a bit odd to me)

It's got to be someone that would get people excited, something surprising, otherwise why bother with the surprise guest slot and not just add another name to the poster.

Yes Beady Eye were poor but their appearance did generate a certain amount of buzz about the place, it was unexpected (at least until 3 hours before) and managed to gain a large crowd.

If it was someone like The Klaxons, whod be arsed? Travis? I like them but they could open that stage on any day and no-one would be surprised.

Much as I personally dislike them, Pet Shop Boys are probably at about the right level to make people prick up there ears, wether it be to leg it down there or proclaim "Fook that for a game of soldiers". Coldplay are too big, Damon Aldarn is elsewhere, The Pogues would be great but very unlikely, sadly Flo probably fits in at the same level as PSB.

honestly it's a shame that Travis haven't been booked (as an early Pyramid act or something) as you're dead right - if they did a 'greatest hits' type set (which they did at TITP) it'd go down a storm
