Socks. What do socks go on? Feet. What is the most common piece of Python iconography? The big foot that comes down to the sound of a raspberry at the end of the theme tune. This might also explain why Blondie are on so early. Get a huge crowd in a silly happy mood then hit em with a full on pop sing along party. Brilliant scheduling

Otherwise it's not

Franz Ferdinand (gig elsewhere)

Kings of Leon (Belgium)

Biffy Clyro (Ireland)

Possible (but unlikely) as touring and free

Arctic monkeys

Bob Dylan , in Europe day off

Bryan Adams, touring and Ireland on the Saturday

Coldplay, will be in prior to rah gigs, friends of festival, have new stuff to plug.

David Gray, touring , day off in Ireland Saturday

Eagles , day off touring Europe and in uk

Elton john, day off, in the uk on tour

Florence and the machine.. Some festival appearances, quickly skipping past

Morrissey, just finished tour

One direction, in between in Amsterdam (figures)

Travis (doing some festivals, free)

Possible, but not touring

Fleetwood mac (in some guise, mick fleetwood was rumour)

Blur (or members of)

David Bowie, outsider but likely to suprise with next move

Foo fighters, doing some us gigs, but not impossible
