Campervan virgin!

Hi all,

First visit to Glasto this year and three friends and I have managed to get our hands on (/borrow from a family friend) a campervan. Opted to puchase East site campervan parking tickets on a whim and, having read various posts in this forum, it sounds like we've made the correct choice. One burning question we have - unfortunately due to work constraints we can't get down there until Thursday morning (planning on driving down from the West Mids first thing), what will availability of spaces be like by then? Will we end up next to a toilet block/in the middle of a fast running river?

And if you've come here looking for a virgin in a campervan, I can only apologise. But at least it got your attention!

You'll be fine. You'll be directed to a spot. it's not like trying to squeeze a tent in somewhere, none of the spots are that bad. Only potential downside is you may find you are at the back of the fields, maybe a 15-20 minute walk to the gate.

There's usually plenty of room in the West and East fields (the latter cover a bigger area) - you'll be fine. I would, however, always recommend getting there on the Tue\Wed, but understand work dictates things sometimes. Have done the Thursday in West before, and was fine.

Best thing is that you'll be nearer the exit when it's time to go home. So far less chance of being bogged or being in a mahoosive queue for the gate. I got there on the Friday last year and just drove in, no queues. Always good if you have an aircooled engine!

PS Beg or borrow a pair of wheel ramps (called equalisers I think) to balance the levels inside the van or your teacups will be sliding off the table! some of the areas are on a slope.
