Swine_Glasto2014
Trying too decide what too drink throughout the day this year. Strongbow Citrus is refreshing cider and isn't too strong so I'm swaying toward that but as of.yet, no decent deals. Last year I had Stella and Strongbow but lagged toward the evening until the naughtys kicked in. Was thinking Bud but just as strong. What's your tipple? neilloggie
Normally cans of bitter/Murphys or Guinness until tea time then as the evening wears on spirits, it also depends on how many bands i want to see later on, because if i carry on drinking too many cans i have to keep nipping off to the toilets every half hour. As we are camping this year(unless we get a camper van ticket) i was thinking of taking maore spirits and buying mixers there, purely to save on carrying too much. jamesrfisher
Bitter. We take 48 tins between myself and my wife. This year is London Pride and Rev James. Will also top up with pints from the beer tents. Avalon Ale was good lat year. Will also have a hip flask of whisky.
Player
Normally Kopparberg Summer Fruits during the day (+ the odd Brothers). The JD and coke in the evenings :-)
gerardfenton18
I am the exact opposite at a festival... normally i feel crap after the previous night i need a few spirits to get me going again and once things have settled im back on the beer or cider or basically whatever was on offer! Swine_Glasto2014
Koppenburg is a shout but quite pricey. I'm very reluctant to go down the carlsberg route
markrkp
Cans of Adnams Southwold bitter, Stella 4%, Brothers pear\strawberry (hoping for toffee apple too), Thatchers Gold, plus a few staple Strongbows, Fosters and Carling (because they're so cheap). Also have some £1 premixed gin/tonic cans from Asda, and a box of wine. Will definitely be buying the odd pint from the Cider bus, Cornish Arms, Bimble Arms, etc though. grumpyhack
Lots of water also Red Bull, fruit juices and the occasional Gin & Tonic (premixed in cans from ASDA and other supermarkets). We mark our arrival with Prosecco and strawberries. Oh (forgot) Pimms and lemonade. Edited May 21, 2014 by grumpyhack
plainlazy44
Homebrew cider. Take 2 litres in my backpack each day and once it runs out i buy from the bars. Costs me about 50p a litre.
drewsstrat
Last year I bought welsh scrumpy from our local tesco, in 3l boxes. It lasted most the festival so sadly didn't partake in as much cider bus tipple as normal (but the boxed cider was stronger). I've found heneiken mini kegs this year
ian the worm
Red wine and water. Separately.
kalifire
I won't be drinking until mid-afternoon I don't expect (aside from the Wednesday and possibly Thursday) mainly because I tend to enjoy stronger ciders - my standard is Scrumpy which is 6% but I also enjoy Aspalls which is 7%. If I started getting through them during the day, even from lunchtime, I'd not last through the night, especially given I'm not doing any naughtier stuff. Also, sorry to be a bit weird, but I actually quite fancy enjoying a lot of stuff sober, fresh and able to experience it all. Reading some of the comments (not on this thread but generally when people are discussing Glasto) you'd think the music and arts were secondary to how much alcohol you can get through! I'm not judging, each to their own, but I'd rather moderate my intake personally and enjoy different things on different levels and different headspaces. Peroni
Whatever you decide. Check it's palatable when warm....
Hello... I'm Johnny Cash
I've got a couple of boxes of red wine, Westons cider, tins of Tangle Foot and a bottle of single malt. As per the above post, it's all about stuff that's OK when warm! Edited May 22, 2014 by Hello... I'm Johnny Cash
markrkp
What's Old Golden Hen like (lighter version of Old Speckled Hen I think)? I've found it "on offer" so am considering buying a load. As you say, ale can be drunk fine at room temperature! ;-)
Stefanie_Rogers
Yeah, stella tends to give me killer headaches after a while! I usually go for cider to be honest, as I find it more refreshing Also try and drink water in between, especially if it's hot!!
markrkp
Trouble is, I drink cider so quickly as it's thirst quenching (esp. after ale and lager) ...and then it gets messy!
pentura
Load of tins of lager (not fussy what brand really) and I'm gonna make some Rhubard & Custard Vodka for hangover curers and sipping on during the day
lcb172
last year i took the cocktail in a bag, however i can't seem to find them anymore, so this year it will be steady drinking of rum and coke throughout the day

alexwetherell
A nice little mix of lager and cider. Might pre mix some vodka lemonade for this year though to make it a bit lighter on the shoulders
