The Melanie Scale was coined by a user on this forum about a decade ago, named after his girlfriend who talked... a lot... and her external monologue led to this. I might not have it quite right but it was a long time ago and no longer shows up on the searches so I think it deserves a re-introduction

Feel free to edit/adjust if you remember better or think I'm all wrong

(0 - glastonbury? never heard of it)

1 - i'm not sure i can really be bothered this year

2 - might be worth a punt if I can go with my mate

3 - i could take it or leave it, sounds alright

4 - so who actually is playing?

5 - tickets tickets tickets

6 - i'll start the packing list

7 - every topic starts to relate in some way to glastonbury

8 - when I get there I'm doing this, then that, then this, then that, then this, then that...

9 - must start packing, must make lists, must check tent, who's feeding the cat, OMG so much to do

10 - OMFG I'M ACTUALLY GOING TO BE DOING THIS IN XXX DAYS TIMES OMFG I LOVE GLASTONBURY!

Also at level 7. Packing list is in full flow, items being purchased off eBay. Most conversations seem in some way to end up being about Glastonbury.

Oh, I thought this was going to be an excitement scale based on famous 'melanies'. On that, I'd probably be at 'griffith', but on this scale about 7-8

Only a 5 for me at the moment, but i'm in the middle of exams at university so i can't really afford to think about anything other than engineering at the moment.

This time next week when i have finished it will probably move up to 7/8

I'm still at a 5 as my ticket hasn't arrived yet - though one of our gang got his yesterday. Once I've got it in my hand (the ticket I mean) then I'll be going up to a 10.

About a 7/8 at the moment,8 when ticks arrive. went down to a 0 yesterday briefly for a minute or two when I heard my car might cost my over £500 to get it right to drive down and I thought fuck it i'll hire one, two of us going. It then shot back up to a 7:)

9 Right now....List sorted....Plans to sort gear out this weekend....All thoughts / conversations lead to Glastonbury...Sniffing my hat just to get the feint smell of bonfire etc...
