Not glasto but once at a friends uni halls after a few lines of MDMA whilst the rest of the flat were in the front room I couldn't remove myself from the chair in his bedroom listening to Alabama 3 "you don't dance to tekno" on repeat for 2 hours.

Loving this thread...

Took my younger brother to his first Glastonbury in '95. He'd been raving about Phoenix Festival and felt clued-up for The Big G. Within an hour of setting up camp he saw someone he knew and was off with a cheery wave. Felt a bit miffed that he didn't 'touch base' all night, and all the next day, but I knew other people there (and bought some cracking pills of some hardcore scousers camped in front of the pyramid) so got on with it. He turned up 48 hours later, with a middle-aged hippy couple who sloped off once he was despatched at the tent. Not a word as to what he'd been doing, but, well, younger brother innit..

He told me LAST YEAR (bearing in mind this was in 1995) that he'd done some hardcore acid early on with some new mates and woke up in his underpants at some strangers bonfire, after dancing like a loon at their camp all night. He had no idea who they were, where he was or how to find his tent. A kindly middle-aged couple then walked him around site for a few hours trying to jog his memory. To this day he reckons he had no idea how he found me. What really made me laugh was the small memory I have of the grateful look on the faces of the kindly couple asking him hopefully : 'Is that your sister?'. Thank fuck for that, their faces said, as they hot-footed it away as fast as they could...
