The thick of it box set is worth a go if you like satire. It's razor sharp throughout and never really dips in quality.

The Corner is The Wire but good.

It's by the same people, who used their experiences to write The Wire, but while The Wire is entirely fictional, The Corner fictionalised real people, real stories, real dialogue, real events. So good, and shows up/destroys The Wire on so, so many levels.

House,The West Wing,The Sopranos,Six Feet Under and Weeds would be my recommendations.

Agree with weeds, also Community, Psych and Parks & Rec are all enjoyable lighter options.

Netflix, Netflix is the answer. If I ever fall on hard times, I'd pay for Nextflix before food and rent. I have about 10 different people using my account so it pretty much pays for itself.

I wanna get around to The Wire at some point. Someone said early 24 but I think season 2 and 3 were a tad shaky. 5 and 1 are the best for me, on 7 now.

oh and comedy wise (you probably didn't mean comedy) Arrested Development, it's so good and layered so repeated viewing is very rewarding.

I'm surprised so many people are saying Six Feet Under, it always seemed liked a show that was about to get really good but never did.
