Bonedaddy
Oh, you'll be able to find a rental, albeit maybe further afield, but not for your budget.
Bonedaddy
do you also have a campervan pass in hand?
Neville Street
Find a friend with a van and do a deal. Buy a caravan for £500 and then sell it afterwards (you will need a towbar, or rent a car with a towbar, still spend less than your budget). If you have cash, buy a van for £3-5k and sell it afterwards, there are several on the sides of the roads in a Cornwall with for sale signs at that kind of price. You would easily get the same money after the event. A bit of hassle as you will need insurance, but all doable). Good luck
Tompip72
My honest opinion is that you stand very very little chance at that price. Most want close to £1000 for a week. I think your best bet.... Buy a caravan from ebay or gumtree for around £1000.00. Sell it afterwards. Might break even, might lose money, but probably won't lose as much as £500.00 Alternatively sell your campervan ticket on here to the next in the list but I hope you get something sorted. banter
Campervan pass in hand yes. Just looking for something in the Hampshire area heading East towards Glastonbury really. Quotes all around £799 +
Bonedaddy
http://www.landcruise.uk.com/glastonbury-festival-motorhome-hire/ Example of those with availability, £1100+ (which is market rate for Glasto week in my experience) Edited June 11, 2014 by Bonedaddy
Tompip72
Can't believe I'm helping you keep your ticket. But what about this? http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/caravan-2berth/1067725050#photo-content Looks in decent nick and its out your way. I'm sure you'd get at least £500.00 for it afterwards. If you have a car with a toe bar you're good to go! banter
Thanks so much for all your help, its so kind of you. Just to add, the van pass is a live in pass (performer on site) so not for sale
Tompip72
Going off topic a little, check this post on gumtree out that i stumbled across earlier... http://www.gumtree.com/p/community/2-fun-girls-looking-for-a-car-share-to-and-from-glastonbury/1067602823 ...i love how they've stuck a photo of themselves on so as to illustrate their 'fun'ness! sazindie
The ridiculously high prices that were being asked for campervan hire over Glastonbury week was the reason why we bought a trailer tent, cost us £350 and we get to keep it. :-) That was also found via a gumtree ad. Nice hymer
Don't think prices are unreasonable - no way I'd rent my van for a grand, even to a friend ! If anything is damaged, it will cost a fortune to repair, tax, fuel, insurance, cleaning it up afterwards..... Let's face it a half decent car costs £500 a week to hire... My advice buy a caravan or motorhome and sell it afterwards, buy wisely and you'll make a profit - no brainer this time of year

Yoghurt on a Stick
I haven't got a clue about it but I presume that just insuring someone else to use your campervan on a commercial basis would be quite high. I've got a campervan and would love to rent it out to make an income off it (just enough to wash it's own face really). However, I just think the insurance would be mental, which you would have to factor into the price of hiring it out. I'd love to help out on this occasion for the sum of £500 but I live in Birmingham and not the south and couldn't be arsed dealing with the insurance aspect of it. On top of that I couldn't drive it down to the south on time because I'll be driving another vehicle down to Glastonbury. If you can see a way around those obstacles eg getting your own insurance and collecting and dropping it back to Birmingham then I may be interested. Not sure if that is of help or not. Oh, just to add, that it only sleeps two people as it has a fixed double bed in it - which is unusual I believe but beyond comfy. It's also got a wc, fridge and gas oven and hob. Anyway, I'm not trying to push it on you. In fact it hadn't occurred to me to rent it out until I saw your post. PS - The van is a long wheeled based transit which has rather an unusual wrap on it's bodywork - see photos on this thread below; /topic/185648-campervan-conversion/">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/topic/185648-campervan-conversion/
