Smoking Can*b**s in public

Hello and good morning everybody

I,m new to forums since i got my ticket for Glasto which will be mine and my girls first time ( we soooo cant wait now!!!) and have been looking on efest forums for a while nowv for tips and stuff and havnt seen anything that would help answer my question,

I wanted to know what it is like smoking in public and is it frowned on and dodgy or does nobody care. i dont want to be happily walking around with a dooby and suddenly get my collar felt for it and i certainly dont want to upset anyone on our first time there,

Is there "safer" places to go for a smoke or does it not matter?

I,d really appreciate a glasto veterans help here.

Nobody really cares and it happens fairly freely.

Just do it responsibly. Don't blow smoke in people's faces, be blatant around children, etc.

Also it is still illegal and if you thrust it in their faces the police will arrest you. Generally they seem to turn a blind eye though as there are more serious things for them to deal with.

don't smoke in the Dance Village - they'll probably bust you if it's like last year, everywhere else is pretty chilled as long as you're not in a tent

Just use some common sense really, like you do in daily life. Usually they turn a blind eye, but the more blatant you are, the higher the risk- it just takes one power crazed police or security person having a bad day to decide to bust you.

Choose your spots, try to be discrete! Obviously lighting up while sat on a bench by yourselves by a main pathway with security people walking up and down is more risky than lighting up in the middle of a crowd, or while sat up a hill in the viewing areas.

I usually get very paranoid though, regardless!

Not true. Security will steal a person's weed from them, whilst pretending to be confiscating it.

Also, the drugs laws and their consequences apply just as much at Glastonbury as they might do anywhere else.

I just dont want to get there and not knowing the guidelines/rules written or unwritten and get grabbed for taking the piss as i want to respect everything about glasto and fully immerse myself into the whole festival experiance inc chilling with the hare crishnas, lol. i,m so excited now and wish i could go to sleep and wake up to Tuesday 24th. .

A couple of days into the festival everything smells pungent and cheesy.

I did security for 4 years and the gigantic pile of seized drugs in the contraband cabin in our compound was a sight to behold.

Hahahaha, strange that, when i was a bit younger my uncle used to buy me one as long as i smoked it in front of him just so he could smell it, he didnt like it any other way but just to smell it, hahahaha, i used to love my uncle in them days a hell of a lot more than i do know, he stopped liking the smell, hahahahaha.

my missus' sister is similar , we have to sit in the car with the windows up and smoke

i think it maybe gets here a bit high but it makes her feel a bit better that she isn't actually doing it herself

I don't smoke (anything) and I hate the smell of tobacco, but love the smell of weed. I miss it, actually, now everyone at Glastonbury seems to do those stupid little NOS canisters instead of having a spliff!
