Remember you can also be searched on your way in (though they're mainly looking for glass, which is a no,no).

If you're camping there's only one entrance occasion when you first arrive. If you're in the CV fields you have to go in and out daily.

So, again, use a bit of common sense.

Toke, but roll subtly

Bring, but never sell

Generally the police are still the police but you're one person in a crowd of thousands - don't stand out and draw attention to yourself and all is fine

let them keep their focus on people actually harming others

Good advice on here, sorry to sound like an old nanny but remember that being in a tent which is full of potentialy flamable bits an bobs with a burning ting in your hand and smoking something which makes many people sleepy could be a bit of a problem! Be safe folks.

Such measures have to be large to allow for folk who buy only occasionally but in relative bulk and need to get it home

It makes me cringe seeing events like Parklife having deaths from knives and people getting bottled yet most of their paltry 22 arrests were for drugs and I bet a large proportion of those for cannabis

It's ridiculous that police time is wasted by the disproportionately heavy enforcement of the drug laws tilted strongly towards cannabis as it's so easy to detect - it's pretty much criminal to pay it any attention when each person caught and processed helps noone and keeps officers from getting on finding the guys with the knives

Cannabis - especially skunk - wreaks absolute havoc with brains. Drug-induced psychosis is no kind of fun to experience or to watch. Some people are fine with it, yes: but some people have life changing experiences and can find their concentration completely permanently altered. It's illegal for a reason.

(Sorry to be the boring fucker, but I work in drug rehab/mental health and I've dealt with lots of drug casualties)

Sorry to argue but science says otherwise - there have been many many studies and not one has been able to show that link. Plenty suggest an association, but that only points to people with psychoses quite liking weed, not that it's a cause.Your lack of knowledge for someone in the trade is shocking. Skunk means homegrown cannabis, it's so called because of how much the plants smell. It's not a different sort, or genetically modified or whatever else you believe. There isn't some new super strength weed available - hash or resin has always been available which is concentrated drug already, and since users 'roll their own' they choose the strength not a strain choosing for them.I'm sure you do have casualties, I don't mean to dismiss their suffering - but I'd bet money there was alcohol or a pre-existing tendency or condition with them all too.

Respectfully Frostypaw, I disagree. I do know what skunk is. I'm well aware of what resin and bar is. The reason I mentioned skunk is because people are home growing and cross pollinating strains to get as much THC as possible out of it, and people are still rolling up and putting a 'standard' amount in, getting absolutely banjaxed and unable to move for hours.

As for the whole research thing, I'm not too interested in which studies have/have not shown: that changes according to which things are being highlighted by whichever newspaper or blog are printing it. Lots of studies say lots of things on both sides of the fence.

As for you being able to bet that alcohol and other things are 'always' a factor: no. Just no. Sometimes they are of course, but there's a fair few hardcore weed smokers who only imbibe their desired herb, and are suffering from lots of paranoia, psychosis and irrationality when they do. Who are then fine after a couple of weeks being THC free. I've seen it lots and lots of times.

As the above poster states, I'd like people to be in an informed position before they start (and continue) smoking weed. Lots of people have little adverse effects, apart from enthusing about crappy snack foods. Lots of people are not that lucky and instead stumble into a path of inpatient mental healthcare.

So you would disagree with advice from the Royal College of Psychiatrists then? They state that there is now sufficient evidence to show that cannabis use increases the chances of developing mental health issues.

Maybe you should look at their Web page? I don't want to appear prissy and people are naturally free to make their own decisions but, I would suggest that if you are considering experimenting with cannabis, research reputable sites and advice, as opposed to listening to armchair experts.

I like peanuts. I don't want peanuts banned! Can we ban almonds instead? Boring little twats

Edit: fully agree about psychiatry being a 'give it a bash - oh no - then try this instead' kind of area. It's got to be so individually tailored.

Not denying some people can have horrific reactions to drugs that can permanently effect them, but for me it's like saying that because some people have a peanut allergy, no one should eat peanuts just in case and that they should be illegal to protect people with peanut allergies.
