Box of Wine

Wheres a good deal to get box's of wine from? nothing fancy! Tescos seems pretty steep.

I have always found it more expensive to buy wine in the box which seems daft. Sainburys sell some nice wines in boxes for about £12.50 for 3 bottles. (£4.17 a bottle) Their Shiraz is good and £14%!

Sainsbury's own brand red is the nicest of the cheap boxed reds I think.

If its too dear maybe goto the local brewery shop and buy a used bag, they will have loads laying about, then decant your bottles I to them. Wilkos sell loads of home brew kit, they may have some bags.

I normally have white wine but this year I'm going for red as if this gets warm it is still drinkable where as white tastes like crap warm (in my opinion).

I took tetra pak wine from Waitrose last year - it was pretty decent and cost about £4 for a 750ml 'bottle'. Have a feeling Lidl do tetra paks too?

Don't forget most supermarket wine boxes are 3 litres (£12-15) which is same as 4 bottles so decent value

Another recommendation here for the Sainsbury's shiraz. I've taken that to a couple of festivals, very nice for the price.

I might have a look at the Sainsbury shiraz then. Always thought it was a good idea seeing people walk around with a box of wine, easy to share and also when completed....it acts as a pillow!

sainsburys also had red wine in plastic bottle when I went the other day. looked pretty basic but might be worth a try

Oh no! I wasn't going to drink this week, but all this talk of Shiraz.... and now the sun has come out....

Most are no longer 3L now, they've downsized to 2.25 and 2.5L instead, yet maintained the higher price.

However, we've been supping Aldi's 3L £15 Shiraz for a week now (as Mrs CJ found my Glastonbury stash) and it's decent enough.
