Do they fill the fields from the nearest to furthest or visa versa?

Few of our mates got in and we just headed for them, was nobody on the gate. We shall be head down, window up heading for there again

I have never been in the camper fields before and I have an east ticket.. my husband is convinced that if we arrive on Thursday lunchtime we will be left with a rubbish spot.. from what I have read they are designated spaces so it doesn't matter when you arrive?? is this right?

They are designated spaces in that you can't park where you want - you will be parked up by stewards in the next available space. However, many people arrive early so by Thursday, a lot of the fields will have already been filled. There doesn't seem to be any specific order they fill the fields up in - it's not always as simple as the earlier you arrive the nearer to the gates you will be.

Whatever day you arrive, there will still be space for you. But you have no way of knowing where that space may be.

Thanks for that, I dont think we are too concerened about where the space is - just having enough room as we want to put up an awning

I have seen some pics where vans are parked on grass verges

Just make sure you tell the stewards parking you up that you have an awning and they will make sure the next van is not too close so you can fit it in.

I would imagine on Thursday lunchtime you would be fine. Some friends of ours once arrived on Friday (CV East) and said there was still loads of space. This was a few years back, and the CV fields have got busier, but i'm sure you will be fine. They only sell a certain number of CV passes, and they have space for that number of vehicles. So unless the stewards do a superbly bad job, space should not be an issue.
