i guess you're right, although Muse definitely seemed like more of a Sonisphere booking than Download. would definitely fit with the whole 'headliner that's never played' thing though

Slash was one of the main acts I was wanting this year. Love the new album. Crue, meh but at least they aren't headlining...

Enter Shikari only headlined the second stage in 2013 so it does seem odd that they'd be booked to do it again (and so soon)

I think the attitude towards KISS headlining depends on who else they have.

Exactly this. I don't mind a band I can have a guilty sing a long to on the last night.

Aerosmith were great for that this year.

I don't think I know a lot of Kiss material, probably more than I think I do. Do they have a lot of easily recognisable hits?

It really depends who else is headlining. They are a decent headliner, though going to really struggle to shift 110k tickets off the back of them. Assuming there is another mammoth headliner, or 2 really solid headliners alongside them and a strong undercard they'll do fine. Otherwise it'll struggle.

They are a good live act though, ideal for a festival.

i've never gone out of my way to listen to a Kiss song but i (and i imagine a lot of other people) know a fair few. they definitely have their share of recognisable songs. i'm sure somebody else with better knowledge of their back catalogue will be better at listing them than me
