I’m legitimately surprised at the mixed reaction towards next year’s line-up. I know people will often instantly dismiss comments made on facebook like they don’t count but the response to 2012 & 2013 were overall pretty good. Is it the Muse factor or that Kiss aren’t viewed as a big hitter as much any more? My group passed on this year as although there were some decent smaller bands there wasn’t enough to justify the money. I’m pretty chuffed with 2015.

What are we thinking, busier than this year but quieter than last?

Its just a bit different which means the metal purist types shout about it a lot. I reckon its a well balanced line-up which will appeal to a lot of people. Just a shame about the Slipknot/bsc repeat, which juat seems a bit lazy. Edited November 19, 2014 by Dan R

The Friday should be the same as last year shouldn't it? It the same bands after all!

The Saturday will be rammed with kids wanting to see Muse

The Sunday should be rammed too, as it's a great top 3 in my opinion.

Friday - people are annoyed with Slipknot playing again as they headlined TWO years ago not last year, I hate when people say that, when it gets to the festival, theres a TWO year gap, not one, that and they're going to see them on tour.

They aren't a fan of FFDP and don't get why they are 3rd

They aren't a fan of classic rock so Judas Priest is a big shit inbetween Slipknot and FFDP

Sat - Muse aren't metal enough, even rock enough, they've headlined V so can't play Download, they don't like Matt Bellemys voice

Faith No More, I don't know them because they havent had an album out in years why are they subbing

ADTR - I like classic rock who the fuck are ADTR

Sun - KISS, who are they? They aren't current acts like Slipknot and Muse

Slash - see above, even though he is releasing albums.

The complaints about Faith No More subbing rather than headlining are my favourite. 'They headlined in 2009 and now they're playing before Muse?!?! What the fuck Download sort it out!' Yeah, they're not headlining any more because they're not enough of a pull to do that, just be glad they're happy playing lower slots rather than demanding ones they won't get, Jesus Christ.

(This is in reference to the FB comments btw, no-one on here is stupid ).

I think they've pulled it out of the bag, personally, but I'm struggling to convince my friends to go with me :/. One in particular wants some punkier bands on the undercard ('Old Reading style' as she describes it) so hopefully the next announcement will be kind.

The entire line up looks "meh" to me. I'm sick of Muse, I've seen Slipknot & Faith No More a few times in the last few years and KISS, Motley Crue & Judas Priest could be fun but not worth going out of my way for.

Most of our group will be returning next year, a couple were considering Foo's & AC/DC (whenever they announce their stadium run). I think this line-up (so far) ticks most of the boxes. The BSC/Slipknot double repeat is ridiculous but I imagine it wasn't their 1st choice.

I guess I'm just surprised at the mixed response Muse got & how people aren't excited about Kiss. I reckon it'll sell better than this year but doesn't have the Metallica/Sabbath or Maiden/Rammstein big headliner double that'd shift the weekend tickets. Muse will sell a shedload of day tickets though

FNM should be headlining over Muse because I prefer them. Muse headlined glasto so will shift tickets and are not a small band.

And

Judas Priest should be above Slipknot. I won't even dignify that by elaborating on it.

Perhaps but there are many bands that may be available that could successfully headline. There's one band announced for anything in Europe this summer that could headline and isn't somehow ruled out and that's Def Leppard. Download have done a good job of steering clear of Sonisphere 2014's undercard too so they'd probably have to book a few from that again.

Sonisphere saying something today is just the standard reminder that there may be another festival you can consider instead of sorting your mates and buying Download tickets tomorrow.

I like Ozzy and I like System, I'm bored of Muse and I'm bored of Slipknot, I'm indifferent to Blink and I'm indifferent to KISS.

Faith No More is the stand out for me at Download and I saw them this summer but I'm in no hurry to see them again.

I really like the line apart from Manson. Headliners are fine and the chance to see Priest again is good enough for me. Throw in Motorhead/Saxon/Thunder and I'll be well chuffed

My crowd are all going. Campervan for the weekend again. I think it will always be the case until Download start fucking up big style. The line up is almost irrelevant. Quite often it's the bands you don't expect to wow you that do and some that you expect to be brilliant leave you a bit flat. The whole festival experience is still top notch compared to others. The line up isn't out of this world but I know I'll enjoy most of it.

I love how the metal festival market is full of fussy fuckers who um and ah for months whilst they decide if they will reward the organisers with a day ticket or not. It makes it easy and a relaxed process getting tickets. The bad old days of stress and being online as teh tickets go on sale or missing out seem so far away now
