A question about arriving on Thursday

Hi,

This is probably a question which doesn't have a definitive answer but any advice would be much appreciated.

My friends and I are arriving on the Thursday morning and, as there are two sets of us, intending to meet at a service station on the way. However, in case we can't meet on the way what are the chances of us being able to find each other and enough space to camp together (two tents)? What campsites are less busy on the Thursday? My friend has suggested near the John Peel stage and we are not worried about being anywhere lively.

There was loads of space all weekend in pylon ground and rivermead last year so no problems setting in a group of tents. Its very quiet and a bit if a trek from anywhere other than John peel, oxylers though.
