Lvg feeling the pressure:

"Two weeks ago I was the king of Manchester. Now I am the devil. It is the football world."

"The fans have to believe. Paul Scholes has to believe. The club have hired me because of my philosophy, not because I am nice, although I am," the 62-year-old added. "They have not hired me to fire me."

Im not sure about Welbeck, I think there is some talent there and If I was at a mid table premiership club I would be tempted to take a punt. He is one of those players that I think could be anything from a consistent 10-15 a season scorer for a mid table premiership side, to a championship player in 3 seasons. Its a move that he has to get right.

He is definately good enough for a mid table team. Too good for championship IMO but not good enough for a top 4 team. He is not necessarily a top finisher but he can create as well as getting a fair few goals.

Bit frustrating that match.. 2 weeks running now we've run out of steam with 10 - 15 minutes left and could be sitting with 6 points rather than 2. Need Moyes pre-season fitness runs back

Yep, Everton were good, but Arsenal were absolutely dire in the first half. Same as the Palace match; almost every pass the midfield made went to an Everton man.

Özil on the wing was an awful selection. Wenger needs to stop putting playmakers out wide, and get over Jack bloody Wilshere.

Ozil at Arsenal has been very frustrating, while I think from a symbolic perspective it had great value, the talent hasn't translated to performances on the pitch.

As for Wilshire I think he is the ultimate example of a player who believed his own hype. While he has had bad luck with injuries, Im not sure there has been any development in the last 3 seasons.

I didn't see the game, but was following on the BBC live thread. All the conversation seemed to be about Arsenals flaws instead of evertons strengths. I personally think Everton are an improving team and will give most of the top teams a difficult challenge, particularly at Goodison.

Will be interesting to see if there squad can cope with Europa and premier leagues.

I have my doubts, will most likely finish around the 6-8 mark.

I haven't seen any development from Wilshere since 2010. Still plays like a 19 year old. I swear the only two things he can do with a ball are to run into an opposition player and fall over, or pass it to someone on the edge of the box and sprint goalwards, hoping the ball somehow finds its way back to him.

Hadn't thought of it like that - I was thinking even at 77, old BD is still a better commentator than anyone else on MOTD.

But yes, if it brings success, double bonus!

Tempted to actually give Allardyce some credit for yesterday - that 2nd goal for example, had it been scored by Arsenal people would be creaming themselves over it - but then I remember, he probably doesn't deserve any, would have been the usual crap had Nolan been fit.
