dentalplan
I've got a feeling they'll be the first side to qualify for CL through winning Europa. At the expense of Chelsea would be interesting.

pink_triangle
888 sport have an offer where you choose 3 forwards pre season and you get a £5 bet for each goal they score, provided you bet on their games. I went for Sturridge, Rooney and Sanchez played 9 scored 3 Not the best of starts. The worst thing is the player I ended up leaving out for those 3 was Costa! kingcrawler
Is it at the expense of the 4th placed team? Nah they increased the maximum number of teams from one country to 5 to stop the 4th placed team missing out. The only reason the 4th placed team wouldn't qualify would be if both the Champions League and Europa League winners finished outside the top four. Gucci Piggy
Just read, there is a maximum of 5 teams allowed in the Champions League from any one country. So if a team wins either of them and finishes outside of the top 4, they'd qualify in addition to the top 4. However, in the unlikely event that a team wins the Champions League and finishes outside the top 4, and a different team wins the Europa League and finishes outside the top 4, they'd both qualify at the expense of the 4th placed team. For example, if Liverpool win the CL and finish 5th, and Tottenham win the Europa League and finish 7th, then whoever finishes 4th won't qualify for the CL. Obviously this only works for countries who have 4 CL spots in their league. Edit: Ffs I go to all this effort and it gets answered while I'm typing. pink_triangle
Me neither, plenty did/do though I think spurs keeper is good enough for top 4, pity about the defence, midfield and attack!
eFestivals
Can we put their chance of top 4 to bed now ?I dunno. After all, either Liverpool have got worse or Spurs have improved. It wasn't 0-5 this time.

pink_triangle
so you've finally given up on those players ever coming good? It took you twice as long as everyone else. The main think Spurs has in their favour is Pochettino who I think is a very good manager. At Southampton he managed to make most of the players overachieve which got several big money moves. I suspect he may get there at Spurs, but it will take time.
thetime
Falcao to United? Would be another scratch your head transfer, so unneeded it will probably happen.

ThomThomDrum
Worked for Fergie for years! Utd had some of the best defenses in the PL under Fergie WRT Falco, he is a unreal player and I will in some ways look forward to seeing him on a regular basis in the PL but if the RVP info Re surgery is not true this certainly is an odd move...............Unless LvG is going to go all Dutch and start applying "total football" tactics and we will see Radamel playing centre half as well as centre forward at times???? ThomThomDrum
Anyone have any idea how much this loan will cost? The figure of €10-20 million was bated about when he was linked with other clubs earlier on in the Summer.

The Nal
Yeah I think it's 12m + 8m wages, isn't it? No 12m including wages. 5m for the loan. 7m wages. I think. Also hearing 8m inc wages. Either way hes worth the risk. Edited September 1, 2014 by The Nal

Could be a loan to permanent deal if things go well(qualification for cl), maybe an agreement to sign for Real Madrid is in place for next season.
