Think that's a bit harsh.I do think he showed potential and was worth the gamble but it's either come too soon/doesn't have the experience/been found out. kaosmark2
City were the 2nd best team but I thought they were slightly unlucky to lose so late. They utterly dominated for 20 minutes but then Bayern worked them out and controlled the game from then. I thought Hart was excellent, which is something I haven't said much in the last 2 years. Not many astounding saves, but a lot of very good ones, and I was particularly impressed with how well he held onto the ball a number of times. Distribution shocking but I kinda expect that from him. Navas was left massively isolated for most of the game, City kept trying to counter through the middle which didn't really work, but Bayern did force that well with their defensive 4 full-backs formation. The English teams that have lost look the best placed to qualify IMO, even though that seems weird. They've had the toughest game in their group gone and not disgraced themselves (some say Arsenal did, but I don't think they were THAT bad). Chelsea and Liverpool have made much more of a meal of very winnable home games.

I thought they had a decent spell at one point but to say they "utterly dominated" for 20 mins is bollocks.Bayern bossed the game and I can only remember City bothering them twice the entire game.Bayern looked so much better than last year and where miles ahead of City. Granted that is City's hardest fixture out the way though.
5co77ie
England's women's team did well. If only the men's team could emulate it:http://www.thefa.com/news/england/womens/2014/sep/montenegro-0-england-10-match-reportand £10 to see England Germany at Wembley is a bit of a bargain. I don't think Bayern looked better than they did through most of last season, better than in the same fixture last season, but I still think they're missing Kroos. LondonTom
So Liverpool only English club with a win and even that was close! I'd say Arsenal/Man City have the least to worry about as they both played two very good teams away from home. England's women's team did well. If only the men's team could emulate it:http://www.thefa.com/news/england/womens/2014/sep/montenegro-0-england-10-match-report and £10 to see England Germany at Wembley is a bit of a bargain. Would be better to charge a tenner at a smaller ground and have some atmosphere? I'd doubt even at a tenner, its going to get much more than 30,000. Actually I was thinking about it this morning when I saw an ad. Does it make it make me sexist I have no intrest in the womens game? I watch other sports with women in them, like swimming, beach volleyball etc.but have no desire at all to go watch this but if it was under 21s at a tenner a ticket against germany? I'd go!(Comparable level of football I think?) Edited September 18, 2014 by LondonTom

5co77ie
yeah you are sexist but then so is the FA for not even having it on TV! also what's going on, the odds on Everton to win tonight are 21/20 - that's not very long! Muller nearly scored in the first 60 seconds and Hart constantly was on call making saves...in the opening half hour.

LondonTom
Do you work for the BBC?http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/golf/29242699 No, it was just something I pondered really. Its not a conscious decision or anything and I wouldn't ever stop women playing football anywhere they want to or the in case the article thinking they should only do 5 a side for 45 minutes . My thought about Wembley is that with it likely being over half empty, it would be even more soulles than usual. Its just I had this thought with the price as to why I wouldn't go watch a woman's game? I don't oppose it, it just doesn't have the same appeal to me. (It might be just down to the fact, that most of the time when I go Football/watch it, its with male friends so I assosiate it like that.) However occasionally I catch the village team when on the park with daughter and the games at that level are better than the men's in my view.
