i couldn't give a toss if somebody's not written a single note or word. if they perform the song well that's fine by me! Jake Bugg does not

Really, FF? I'm too much up my own musical a*** to be OK with 'performers' who take negligible/no part in the creative process. Just too X Factor for my pomposity to bear...

Don't believe the hype then. Go and enjoy them if they are on.

I meant it in that 90% of people who want to see the Roses probably already have done so over the last 18 months. If they did Glastonbury in 2013 then it would have been a big headliner....in 2015 it'd have a feel of 'well they're available' sort of headliner.

To me Glastonbury headliners should fall into 1 of 3 catogories:

1. 'Wow', can't believe Glastonbury managed to get them/him/her, that's a real coup

2. 'A band at the peak/approaching the peak of their careers

3. Something 'different', like Metallica, Beyonce, Jay Z

Roses in 2015 don't really tick any of those boxes for me. Fine as a sub, not a headliner though.

see this is why 2014's trio seem so weak to me

U2 - category one

Coldplay - category two

Beyonce - category one, category two, category three

AM - category two

Stones - category one

Mumfords - category two, possibly category one and possibly category three

Whereas I can't see how Kasbian or Arcade Fire fit into a single one of the categories

Arcade Fire are pretty close to the peak of their powers, certainly in showmanship.

and in popularity

I know more Arcade Fire fans than Mumford and Sons fans

Though a lot of people I know who like Arcade Fire tend to talk about it a lot, and a lot more people will express their hatred of Mumford and Sons

they're not as big now as they were during Funeral and Neon Bibile

Of course they are. They played two nights at Earls Court, three nights at the Barclays Centre on the last tour. They played Brixton Academy on the Neon Bible tour. How can they can possibly be smaller now than when the debut album came out? Maybe you’re thinking of critical reception.
