I would love love love it to be the purple one (infact it would just make my whole festival) but sadly I think its going to be stone roses :-(

I spent a sad hour last night trawling the net for clues and the only thing that i came across was Emily's twitter page. She seems to follow/be followed by most of the headliners from the last few years including the foos, lionel richie and...stone roses. Now there may not be anything in that but...... make of it what you will.

I think I'm reading into it so I'm not let down when he's not playing. This is looking more and more likely to be one of my last Glasto's so I'm really hoping that he does play.

I have to clear my name here, I was not in 5th Avenue! I was actually in Bury, I think it was Bury anyway, it was my mates neck of the woods and he lives in Middleton so I'm pretty sure that's where we went, don't know the area too well.

the thinking is that the Sunday headliner is holding up the lineup release. Just guess work though.

It's amazing how there isn't anything more concrete for the final headliner at this late point.

I still reckon either Prince or Taylor Swift. If it's not one of them I think it's gonna be someone totally unprecedented.

My gut says its not Taylor. Not after Kanye being announced. Just seems like too much of a stretch from the usual style of headliners. Florence would surely go over Taylor given her history with the festival if they were going to elevate someone to headliner status, or have another "Radio 1" friendly act, surely it'd be more likely be her/them.

If it is P***** and they are holding it back for him I couldn't care less when the lineup drops. Would be such a coup and one of the all time great headline performances.

However if after all this wait we end up with Taylor Swift it would be a crushing disappointment, albeit expected.

Prince has outright stated he doesn't like the festival (from his point of view) selling tickets on his name so may want to wait till after it's sold out to be announced. There's reasoning behind what he's saying, he just has a bad habit of claiming things outright.

It shouldn't but I imagine if the rolling stones, Prince, or any other massive artist is involved they will comply.

Prince's issue was that he felt the Festival allowed people to believe he was playing when he wasn't, i.e. Using his name as a rumour to shift more tickets.

I don't imagine he would have an issue with his name being used to sell tickets for an event he's actually playing, infact he's confirmed festival shows months in advance in the past.

I don't agree at all. Of all the festivals to not sell tickets based on the line up, it's Glasto, so it's not like it's a huge issue for the Eavises. On top of that Glasto doesn't pay what headliners would make from other shows, so holding back a name from the line up (if that's what the artist wants) seems like it'd be silly to refuse out of principle.

Middleton is part of Rochdale mate so you may have gone there. Used to go out there quite often. It is also next to Oldham and probably why you met the yonner lass there. Bury is a bit shit for a night really.

Hold up, Matt, when I suggested Prince may be TBC on the poster didn't you tell me the only reason there was a TBC last year was because of Metallica's exclusivity, and so exclusivity would be the only reason for a TBC this year?
