Rose-Colored Boy
What a weird year First pilot suicides and now this, eh. It's all downhill from here. Edited April 7, 2015 by Zac Quinn
The Nal
I've actually never seen Van, so I'm in the mibbes aye camp. How's his act in this day and age? Pipes in good working order? Pretty good! He still sounds like Van anyway I'm in the same boat. Know someone who is a huge fan who caught him at a Jazz Club in London and Albert Hall last year and said he was in great form both times but they've also seem him going through the motions as well. I get the impression the weaponry is still there but weather you get to hear it depends on how motivated he's feeling? Seems to be yeah. He didn't seem particularly arsed at Glasto last time. But these days he sort of even chats to the crowd! Edited April 7, 2015 by The Nal

CaledonianGonzo
Good to hear that Van's still capable of showing up. Which means that I might as well.
sime
And The Doors. And Bob Dylan. And Elvis. I love The Doors and I love Jim Morrisons voice.

Rose-Colored Boy
George Michael? Prince?
sinhala
Maybe one of these .... Tom Petty Eric Clapton Mark Knopler Jeff Lynne Ray Davis
xebecPerry
I would take Jemaine from Flight of the Conchords impression of Bowie as a headliner over Prince I really want Bowie I think I'd take that over anything...

klipper
Bowie would certainly fit everything that I'm putting together into my thinking. You can't give me that kind of hope Neil. That isn't allowed.
DomDom1984
Even if it fits, I can't see it being David Bowie. I don't think any festival has the sort of pull needed to get him.

kingcrawler
I'm not sure I'd want to see George Michael play woodblock for an hour and a half.
matt2007
If anywhere could get him its Glastonbury, he was fantastic in 2000 and looked really amazed to be there
craigyb31
So if we are waiting on he who must not be named then doesn't he not like being announced before 6 weeks of the event? TBA poster with full one coming in May just like last year then
DomDom1984
I'd agree that if anyone could get Bowie, it'd be Glasto. Which means I don't think anyone is getting him.
Matt42
Annoying situation. They can only do a TBA if they are pretty sure he's gonna sign. And I'm guessing with previous years that is not a guarentee.

Agreed. I'll believe it's prince when he walks out on the pyramid on sunday night. Still, my hopes are up a bit.
SloopJohnB
Round and round and round and round.... Anyone else losing interest a bit now? Last week was great! Excitement of paying the balance....real potential of getting an announcement....now.....nothing! I can't be arsed.....wake me up in June I'll keep checking though
CaledonianGonzo
If we're boiling it down to a toss up between Prince and the Dame, then we're just boiling it down to Prince.
Supernintendo Chalmers
Bowie or Prince would be incredible. Either would be fine for me but I'd probably prefer Bowie because my friend coming with me is a huge fan and would be so happy. That said, I would hate for it to be constantly compared to the 2000 show, which is considered by many to be the greatest set ever at the festival. There are bound to be comparisons made. Just a question, if Prince were to be replaced by Florence (or another 'lesser' act for that matter), what happens to the money set aside for the Purple One? Obviously the bumped-up (from sub to headliner) replacement would get an increase in fee I guess, but does it leave an excess in funds? Maybe it goes to charity? JoeyT
So once a line up is dropped, how many threads proclaiming "Line up out" will there be? I'm going for 6.
