Because "I don't wanna miss a thing" was such a moshing anthem.

To be fair a lot of Download's audience are classic rock fans, and stuff like that will go down well.

If Muse were to play I'm not sure how well the songs listed above would go down. Although they'd probably sell a lot of day tickets to their own fans, so it may not be that bad.

if Muse are getting announced tonight for that green man hell festival, surely they are a stick on for Glastonbury?

I think so, personally. I think it announces tomorrow and it might not even announce all three but it looks like they're meant to be headlining that. We heard a while back that they were in talks and it's not like bands can headline other festivals on the first year of an album tour and come back to Glastonbury so if they're gonna headline Glastonbury in the next few years it'll be next year, right? Sounds convoluted but crucially I think they're playing. :P

Plus, sadly, with every festival AC/DC aren't announced for across Europe it looks more like they've chosen to do their own gigs. Fair enough really considering it'll be their last tour and their last shot at making touring money and playing AC/DC gigs. Don't know who this oldie that Eavis mentioned the other day would be without them. Elton? :P

I wouldn't rule out AC/DC yet... there's still some massive festivals which haven't released anything yet

for all we know their festival legs could be Glastonbury, Roskilde, Werchter etc and plenty that haven't announced yet.

but with Foo Fighters looking increasingly more likely do we really think they'd book both Muse and Foos in the same year? i know technically they're both different musically but i've always personally lumped them in to the same 'generic commercial slightly heavy arena rock' bracket. maybe it's the Foos info that's off but i'm seeing them as being more likely

I still say Adele is more likely (Y)

To be honest, I don't think it's unlikely if they've got a very different 3rd

Also, I don't see similarities between foos and muse... appart from they are two massive rock bands. If a festival had an opportunity to get two massive bands on their bill they'd surely go for it?

Well they seem to have French stadium shows lined up instead of Hellfest and if the only German festivals that could home them have announced other bands then it looks like they're doing that in Germany too.

I dunno if they'd actually think about that when booking. They're two massive bands that Glastonbury would probably jump at the opportunity to book. Generic radio rock bands are the most popular headliners of any big festivals so I don't see why they shouldn't.
