eagles?

hehehe. You know, I'm not thinking of me at all (I've seen 2 headliners in the last 7 years), I'm thinking more about my folks, and the other people in my party who are coming. Some of them are a bit older, no interest in the heavier side of music at all. Muse and the Foos? Nah, Elbow, Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Stones etc, these are the acts they wanted. Whisper it quietly and don't tell anyone I said this, but the Eagles would make them happy.

There's an article on NME today speaking with Mr Eavis saying how he would love to relaunch Oasis at glastonbury, saying he's contact with them a lot now Liam has split from beady eye

Also stresses how he thinks Taylor Swift would be brilliant in the 'Dolly' slot given her country routes

"Yeah we're trying to get Fleetwood Mac but the boy Mick said hes happy playing his own gigs. We're still trying hard and hopefully we'll get someone in before April 1st"

Oasis

Big name, big event, but again, it would leave all the people I go with, about 10 people or so, age range from 19 to 65, pretty cold. I think the Pyramid maybe does need a bit of sparkle, bit of a show, bit of glamour sometimes.

hehe, of course, the upshot of this is that we can conclude that all the people I come with are representative of the new type of Glastonbury goer that pretty much everyone on these boards despises and moans about :)

So by the way Micheal seems to be wording it, they have booked taylor swift in a slot lower than a headliner.

Which makes me think headliners could be Foos, AC/DC and Muse if muse are back in the potential picture.

If muse play green hell then they are even more likely...

there's no way the headliners are Foos, Muse and AC/DC

"hey, remember all you people who were annoyed at Metallica, a heavy guitar act, being booked to headline last year? well fuck you"

i think even two of them topping the bill is a push unless they have a big pop act a-la Taylor Swift / Adele in the third slot

No chance all 3 will play. It will be 1, if any at all. I'd be more inclined to say the Foos out them 3, then another 2 headliners not in the heavy guitar music category.

Because "I don't wanna miss a thing" was such a moshing anthem.

Yes i was being entirely serious with the songs I mentioned :P

There's been info somewhere that they have Muse, Metallica and KISS headlining.

KISS FOR GLASTONBURY!

Muse and the Foos? you'd need someone pretty fucking spectacular and with mass appeal to fill that 3rd headliner slot then.

Arguably, of the rock world two of the bands with the most mass appeal at least. (But agreed it could do with something else different if they did.)

"They are terrific band, just terrific and I'd love to have them here but at the moment they are under contract with Sonisphere so I can't say anything"

Would be fucking awesome if they did though, would need Spinal Tap in the afternoon though :P

I'd be confident that the people complaining about Metallica will not be the same people complaining about Muse or Foos. That said it won't be all three and people will complain about AC/DC being metal, even though they're not.
