kalifire
I think I'll put a tenner on Adele at 40/1. Bloody hell, that's tempting. Who gives 40/1? EDIT: William Hill. Hmm. I'll give it a while longer, but 15 quid on that would pay for the whole thing! Edited November 5, 2014 by kalifire
kalifire
I wonder if there's anything to be read into the fact ME floated TS for the 'Dolly slot'? It completely undermines Emily's tweet in July that the slot had already been booked.
Gucci Piggy
There's no way he meant to play the legend slot. He'll have just meant for her to be the next big country star to play a high profile slot.

kalifire
But he did specifically mention "the Dolly slot". Oh, I don't know. It's more fun to speculate when the clues are consistent.
Gucci Piggy
Maybe the Dolly slot is the new yearly slot, with a different country star each year. The Friday hip hop slot The Sunday legend slot The female slot The Saturday night metal slot The Dolly slot Soon we'll have the pattern for the entire line-up cracked. Matt will have a field day! bocumaroy
A few more listens in and I've changed my mind about 1989, it's very good. More and more onboard with this everyday. Edit: Thought this was the Taylor Swift thread. Carry on. Edited November 5, 2014 by bocumaroy
eFestivals
Tom Meighan said the exact same thing in January and they were already booked. Though that could have been an outdated interview too.Kasabian were booked (tho perhaps only a verbal agreement at that time) sometime before mid-October 2013.It's amazing what you can find out over dinner sometimes. eFestivals
Were they not booked to sub at first thoughyep, so i believe - tho always on the proviso of being bumped up if the little purple pain didn't want to do it.Tho they were actually bumped up before Prince was written off, cos the pencilled-in Prince was moved to Saturday before they gave up on him. Avalon_Fields
The Foos are apparently wanting Glastonbury to 'give them a call'!
Matt42
http://www.nme.com/news/foo-fighters/80908 Foos like a joke so I reckon there's abit of tongue in cheek on this.
Matt42
Asked to respond to the quotes Emily Eavis told NME: "We'd love to have the Foo Fighters back at Glastonbury and they haven't played since 1998 so its well overdue! We'll have to see..." Props to her for remaining cryptic almost every year don't think emily has ever given a suggestible hint, ever.. Bisque
Asked to respond to the quotes Emily Eavis told NME: "We'd love to have the Foo Fighters back at Glastonbury and they haven't played since 1998 so its well overdue! We'll have to see..." The fact someones told him when they last played (would he really remember 1998 without a reminder?) suggests they are playing. Plus maybe bringing up the date of it being ages ago since playing gives the fest a bit more kudos to book them, plus new album, over the loads of UK festivals they've played a few years ago. Bradders
Well 1998 has been mentioned enough times on here that I knew it, it's not surprising that the woman running the festival does too.
Bisque
it's not surprising that the woman running the festival does too. Why would she tell Micheal then? Aaaahhhh fuckery: just realised it was Emily & not Mike! My bad. I still, hmmmmm, not sure she would remember. Maybe. Sorry. stuartbert two hats
Why would she tell Micheal then? Aaaahhhh fuckery: just realised it was Emily & not Mike! My bad. I still, hmmmmm, not sure she would remember. Maybe. Sorry. She could just Google it at the drop of a hat like any other over-connected member of her generation. If it was Mike, I'd say it was significant that he knew that detail, but Emily? Nah.

So am I right in thinking both Foos and Fleetwood Mac announce tours on Monday?
Avalon_Fields
There was a story on NME news just now about Michael Eavis quitting in 2020, and the 'problem' with getting headliners (As there's only about 30 capable of doing it and he's booked most of them), so alternative is to spend more on Shangri-La to reduce dependency on headliners in future years. However, now I can't find the story so I'm either dreaming, or they've taken it down...
