Fivefingerjohn
Hang on, just had a terrible thoight. If FM are back in the frame, surely Macca is in a good position now
Avalon_Fields
The biggest 'hits' that aren't on that record are probably Little Lies and Everywhere, if you're looking for another album though I'd go for Tusk next Tusk, seriously great album
Keithy
I'm not fussed by FM. It's just 'nice' music. Driving music. Beige music. Perfectly listenable but doesn't get my juices flowing. Can see a pyramid field full of people nodding their heads and tapping one foot on the ground. Hopefully for a cracking Park or JP headliner on the Sunday if it is FM. Love Blur but can't see that anything other than a bit 'after the Lord Mayors show' trying to following their 2009 set, all a bit anticlimac. Unfortunate that Glastonbury appear to be scrambling around for a 3rd headliner at this late stage. When it's all sorted, if it's not Prince then would be interesting to know whether he was ever genuinely in the mix or if it was just the annual Prince rumour or whether he led them up the garden path. Get the feeling that recently Prince doesn't plan stuff too far in advance. The rumours that he might be returning to London in June might be true but equally it might just be he's thinking about it and isn't prepared to commit to glastonbury at this stage and in turn they are thinking they can't wait around now. Either way, the Sunday headliner saga just all seems a bit messy. Edited April 12, 2015 by Keithy

People have just been caught up in the media hype of the reunion. 'oh they haven't played for ages they must be amazing!' Florence and the machine would make much more sense than either, and would be much better for the festival than wheeling out another dinosaur from the past. Which is lucky, because she'll be headlining.
eFestivals
Please be the Mac. If not now I can't see them ever doing it. by the sounds of things it's not them, they wanted more than Glasto were prepared to pay.

kalifire
by the sounds of things it's not them, they wanted more than Glasto were prepared to pay. In which case we're down to Blur and Florence (likely) or Madonna and Swift (unlikely). None of them are terrible, but Florence would essentially say 'we couldn't do any better' and Blur not only ruled themselves out but would essentially be performing a carbon copy of their 2009 set. I'd much prefer Madonna - a bigger name than Blur and Florence combined - with Swift subbing. To me, that's an incredibly strong Sunday card. But, I'm realistic. I don't think we'll see that. Sigh. Zero_Newnab
Is a repeat from 2009 really "too soon"? I mean. It was like, 6 years ago. Over half a decade. Personally the Blur thing would be annoying because I would quite like to see a non-Pyramid headliner (But like Foos/Kanye/Blur), but I do think they're a pretty good booking, especially if it was last minute emergency call stuff. AdamWillingham
"doing other shows" Who could it be? Madonna (not mentioned in her interview with lauren laverne but could have been scrambled together in the last week) Paul McCartney (euro exclusive for roskilde - maybe a reason in delaying headliner?) Fleetwood Mac (seems unlikely on info neil heard - would make sense have to wait till june due to 'exclusivities') Blur (said they weren't doing it on radio but that was before last week when headliner was apparently signed - no exclusivities here though so why would they need to wait?) Take That Taylor Swift AC/DC The Strokes (not big enough for pyramid anymore IMO) Perhaps it is someone that is doing other shows but they aren't being announced till a later date... Radiohead? Bowie? Reunion of Talking Heads? - it could be anyone, let your imagination go wild... This will be an interesting few weeks!

I agree. 6 years is along time ago and Blur will have new material plus a vast back catalogue of tunes that they didn't play in 2009 to tap into. Out of the latest names rumoured, they would be the better headliner for me. Edited April 12, 2015 by WuzzaWuzza

maelzoid
I know I'm going to get shot down for this one, but... Are people serious about Radiohead still being headliner status? Their recent setlists practically ignore their first 3 albums which is why they're so popular. A set made up of post OK Computer material is hardly populist and although there is a hard core fan base, surely the casuals will be put off by the fairly inaccessible music, the dark mood and lack of anything resembling a song they would recognise. Do younger music fans (i.e. those who weren't into music when OK Computer came out - 18 years ago!!!) have any enthusiasm for Radiohead? Or am I missing something? open fire... shoptildrop
Very much so. On my second listen of Rumours as that's what I did, jumped straight to that! I'd like to get to know more though, what else should I go for? Personally I love Tango in the Night, given that Christie McVie is back we will finally hear some of the hits from that album...but as other guy said next stop is Tusk
