If Neils info regarding Wednesday is true, and Im not doubting it, and the lineup is announced without the third headliner than I take it that like last year this is to get around any "exclusivity" from other festivals. So id rule out....

Stone Roses - not playing anywhere else and dont have to stroke to be making demands for a late announcement.

Blur - not exclusive to IOW so could be announced on Wednesday, plus their 2009 set is glasto folk lore now, I was there, it was amazing, they shouldnt appear again so soon and I dont think they'll top it.

The Strokes - theres plenty of other bands not on exclusives they'd bump to headliner before it being these, plus their stock isnt high enough now to warrant headlining IMO

Prince - Neils info says its not him

It could be.....

Fleetwood Mac - announcing them after IOW could get around the exclusive part, plus theres the quote about IOW "never getting one over Glastonbury"

Paul McCartney - Neil had info on a solo male with a band, he's a European exclusive hence the late announcement, personally dont think its him as could he realistically better his 2004 set

Dreamland stuff....

David Bowie

Led Zep

Everything points to it being someone huge though, even though Neil says no I still think its going to be Prince

You can make excuses that the person taking the video is probably a little too close to the stage for her mic to pick up the acoustics properly but that doesn't excuse the grouchy tempo, yuck.

To be fair when does a gig sound that great when taken on a phone or camera? I have decent camera but I know the video sound quality is shocking as the mic is non-existent

That video does not have good sound quality I agree but disagree they are bad live..

Stone Roses haven't performed since summer 2013. They could be planning a new album and a tour for all we know, and Glastonbury can't announce it until said tour has been announced. You just don't know.

Same as we just don't know about any of the rumours... the rumour mill just keeps turning.

The Smiths haven't performed 1986, I reckon they could release and album and start touring before June though.

I think quite a few people's idea of Fleetwood Mac comes from listening to their greatest hits CD,I feel that the 2015 live experience may come as a bit of a disappointment..

My brother went to see FM a couple of years ago, he took his girlfriend as shes a massive fan. He wasnt expecting much as he can take them or leave them but he was blown away by how good they were, he went as far as to say its up there with the best he's ever seen and he's seen The Who, Bowie, Prince, Neil Young, and The Rolling Stones.

Reckon you could dig up lousy audience cam footage of every band on the planet to 'prove' that they shouldn't play.

Yeah you're probably right, I was initially looking to see if there was any professionally shot footage of their more recent shows online but I couldn't see any only the audience shot ones which didn't look great.

Ahh but has he ever seen a diplodacus?

I'm guessing not as it'd clearly be above those other dinosaurs you mentioned

His current setlist is much more diverse than it was in 2004, but Roskilde (one week later) is specifically announced as "his only European festival gig this summer". Besides, I really think such an iconic slot will not be something they want to repeat: 2004 it is.

Not from a full show but there's stuff from promos on American TV available, like this:

Not perfect but a good enough standard for 90 minutes on the Pyramid I'd say.

Unless UKIP somehow get into power and take us completely out of Europe. Just hope that getting Macca to play Glasto isn't part of their Manifesto!!! :fie:

Good Lord, i detest Fleetword Mac. Dreadful.

Macca i could countenance but you know, he's erm, not very good these days, and contary to Russy, i'm not so much interested in who he was, more about who he is now. Could he really bring the magic and knock it out the fucking park?

Basically, mind, to paraphrase Stiff records, if it ain't Prince, it ain't worth a fuck

Unless they claim they mean 'mainland Europe' and the UK isn't covered by that.
