Do people really feel that Foals could headline? Yes they have some nice tunes, but they don't have any actual songs. They also don't seem to have the quantity of decent tracks to headline.

I remember Melvin saying he'd like to have Foals back at Reading to headline. I can't see them headlining Glastonbury for a while though

yeah they'll definitely get the bump up from Reading/Leeds before Glastonbury i feel, and then if they're still big enough come the next album cycle, Glastonbury will nab em (much like what happened with Arcade Fire). Foals atop the Glastonbury bill right now seems preposterous. i know a lot of people say they should give these bands a chance, and i love Foals, but that would look poor

Biffy on the other hand, could pull off one a terrific step up slot. But I think wait one/two years more before putting them on to headline. Strong sub ATM for me.

With Foals we're talking a year or two away, and probably after they've headlined R+L.

Biffy are already a headliner so they're not a 'step up slot' and there's not much scope of them subbing for a few years.

Have you ever seen Foals play live? They'd nail a headline slot, I'm not particularly enamoured with Total Life Forever and Holy Fire, but Antidotes is one of my all time favourite albums. They don't really have any big poppy tunes other than This Orient and My Number, but their live shows are really something to behold.

shite. i guess the announced dates so far do make them seem very likely (for TITP as well) but i was hoping not. maybe i was wrong and both Foos and Muse will headline in the same year. would make Taylor Swift being the third headliner add up, anyway (in that she's totally different to those two)

I would have thought if Taylor Swift is subbing to anyone it's likely to be Take That. The tour, as it stands, finishes on June 9th but they're bound to do more than 5 dates at the O2.

As to whether they'll be any cop as a 3 piece, who knows? The Circus tour was the greatest gig I've ever been to, the Progress tour as a 5 piece didn't really work thematically and was a bit all over the shop so who knows what they've got up their sleeve.

i think a first listen of their new material will truly decide if i'm all for or all against them coming back so soon, but as it stands their newest material was poor so i'm currently against it (although the Foos new album is shite so i've kinda gone off them doing it also - but at least they'd be a new headliner)

in their current guise i'd say Taylor Swift is a bigger pull than Take That. the three of them just looks pathetic, and the new material (well, the one song i've heard) sounds kind of shite
