Never happened before due to the differences in acts, doesn't soni book exclsively?

Um, exactly...

The reason it hasn't happened before is probably because of the difference in acts; not because they refuse to share headliners.

They're hardly going to affect each other's sales, seeing as they're fucking miles apart and have absolutely no crossover appeal with each other.

If TITP are happy to share with Leeds (who they're much more likely to lose punters to) then they'll happily share with Soni, and if Soni have the opportunity to book Muse I doubt they'll be worried about their customers heading to the Scottish V festival instead.

I am now resigned to accepting that we won't get 'Pink Floyd' at Glastonbury (or any live shows anywhere) and it saddens me greatly, I am however somewhat hopeful of Gilmour being there in a solo capacity with him releasing a new album next year. I'm clutching at straws though....

Yes they could, but whether that's likely I dunno

Didn't realise until after I posted that that it was the 9th and the 11th they were playing and not the 9th and 10th, so you might be right. Checked the last few years and couldn't see anyone who's played BBK and T on consecutive days but it's still possible.

Ive wanted a year at glastonbury where I don't see a single Pyramid headliner.

So far we have rumoured:

Taylor Swift... Boring

Foo Fighters... Meh

Muse........... Been there, done that

If it is those 3, I'll get my year in 2016.

Still hoping for a weekend of

Radiohead

ACDC

Someone different that I wont watch so can go somewhere else (Swift would do)

Muse are playing Dublin in June it seems, full details to be announced soon.

Foo Fighters are announcing an Irish date tomorrow at 4pm. Dave Grohl is also doing the rounds on UK radio on Thursday morning, so probably announcing a tour, which should give a good indication of their Glastonbury availability.

When abouts are muse playing Dublin in June?

Who announces a tour on a Thursday? Unless they're doing presales Thursday afternoon and GS Friday morning..

well they don't have to put them onsale this week....

don't really know what else it could be, especially if he's going on radio in Ireland, and possibly other countries the day before too....

Muse are definitely playing festivals next year, so are Foo Fighters and ACDC have been mentioned so it's likely one of these if not all. One headliner is supposed to be someone who's been around for a long time so not sure why some people are only saying bands of today. Guess we have to look at who's touring or got a new album for clues.

i'd totally forgotten about the supposed 'been around a long time' thing. we're usually all over these little hints that the Eavi' drop but nobody's really been on it this year (although last years 'three acts who've never played' turned out to be shite).

i guess it depends what they mean by a 'long time' - both Muse and Foo Fighters turned twenty this year - but i'm guessing it means more in the thirty, forty year range, which possibly puts AC/DC / Elton John (from the current rumours) in the frame (and i suppose Fleetwood Mac if people are still clinging on to that one)
