if Prince plays in the UK in June and isn't headlining Glastonbury then fuck that guy. there's always the chance that Glastonbury were never after him and we've all jumped to conclusions, but i don't really see that as being likely with what's happening now concerning the third headliner

If he is doing the run of dates, he's back in the favourites mix (again)

Not sure if this is correct about run of gigs coming up, he played an early spring/summer tour in europe last year where he played two shows at roundhouse, as well as london gigs in feb, he was rumored to play Hyde Park last summer but apparently they where reservations over sound so pulled out.

both Neil (i think?) and another person on here have both heard info that he's in the UK in June

Has anyone considered that maybe they've had all three headliners booked for months, but they love the games of smoke and mirrors because it keeps interest and publicity high?

Quite possibly! Isn't there alwas an update after the festival with the Eavis' saying all the headliners are booked already?

Did I read somewhere about more autism awareness gigs?

I'm not sure if it was for the autism rocks things but it was rumoured that the Hit and Run tour would return again. He announced in March that the tour was being extended to take in North America but there aren't any dates yet. But given the whole concept is 'short notice' gigs, then I don't think we'll hear anything for a few weeks yet. Other than 1 US gig last week, he's not announced any more dates yet

Hmmm .... hadn't considered that angle before. It's possible, i guess.

Tho info i'm putting a bit of trust in has Michael saying it's not Prince.

To be fair, if I was Michael and had managed to book prince then I would say it's not Prince as well...

I don't think I've ever heard a Foals song in my life. Are they good? Big enough to headline? Worth a watch?

Yeah I think they worth checking out if you havent put on a brilliant show in 2013 on the other stage. I would say not not big enough yet, definatly a future headliner though.

Yes you are

Neil's info is that they have to hold back the announcement until June - there'd be no reason to do this with these acts, they'd be announced straight away, so if the info is correct, it's gotta be a big act with some contractual stuff / other shows going on preventing them from being announced asap

Thought I would be wrong just had to put it out there. Just trying to think out the box as we seem to keep disscussing the same three / four acts.

yep, that's when we got the 'he's British but the band isn't' comment wasn't it? or the 'been around a long time' comment. i forget the time frame of all of Eavis' nonsense comments

it's always possible.

But I'd say you're be crediting 'the Glastonbury organisation' with far more slickness than I've ever seen it have, both as an insider and an outsider.

I thought we'd moved on now to ME telling us "Next year's going to be great but actually we've just booked the headliners for the one after the next." And then, of course, at some point someone has to tell him (again) that just because he decides someone is good doesn't mean they're booked. Unfortunately no-one tells him this applies to the Sunday headliners until the beginning of June each year and thus the scramble for Mumfords/Any Damon Albarn incarnation/Skunk Anansie begins.

oh right, I guess it would appeal to him to do a hit and run tour that included a virtually unannounced glastonbury headline show.....you'd have to hand it to him if this happens!

Still can't see it being him. He might announce Glastonbury with a bit more notice I suppose but all logic says it's not him.

The difficult thing with Prince is that there's no real solid rumours; he's got no t'interweb presence, everything has been very short notice. IIRC, even the venues only get short notice so there's little scope for leaks.

It's not Prince. It's not, it's not, it's not.

But I'm still holding out against all logic and common sense.

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but does the SR of Lianne La Havas have any bearing on the chances of it still being P*****, after he held press conferences and performed at her house in Feb 2014?

Possibly, though she's already confirmed for Bestival, who also have two headliners left to announce...

I imagine RDB has more cash to chuck at the right headline acts than Glastonbury does too.
