What a lovely load of acts. Patti Smith, Suede, Super Furry Animals, George Clinton and The Mothership (!), Motorhead!, The Fall, Spirtualized, Belle and Sebastian, Roy Ayers, Mavis Staples, The Moody fucking Blues! Plus loads more. I like that line up very much!

chill still loads more to be announced! Picked out 20 acts I'm happy with from this first batch alone, prince or blur would be sweet

Yeah I know there's a couple there that I'd like to see and haven't yet which is good. Hoping for a few more and a decent headliner and I'm set.

All that said the lineup could be horrendous and it would still be a hell of a few days.

Weren't the Blur lot a bit rowdy during Nick Cave in '09? Can't remember whether I read that on here - but Blur headlining would be a fucking nightmare for Alt-J if Blur fans could disrupt Nick Cave

I think more entirely disinterested so they just talked through the whole set, which was a shame because, as ever, Nick was brilliant. I went to see Alt-J at Alexandra Palace and they couldn't stop their own fans from talking and taking selfies throughout, apart from a half-arsed attempt at singing along with the chorus of Matilda. They really didn't seem to cope with the bigger venue. They would therefore be best headlining the John Peel, in my opinion.

Strange. I saw them at their biggest ever gig and it was one of the best things I've ever seen. Seen them twice after not really being the biggest fan. Now I'm hooked. Have heard a few weak youtube performances so I've been lucky. But it is 100% in their locker. They're insane on form.

Well, unfortunately they've become a bit too trendy which I think is why the London gig (and, no doubt, a Glastonbury set) would attract hoardes of hipster types so would likely dangerously over-fill the JPT. I still think a tent suits them better, though.

Bands rarely 'nail' Pyramid sub slots though because people are waiting for the headline act. See Primal Scream, who were excellent on Other in 2011 yet pretty sub-standard on Pyramid in 2013.

I'd be a bit worried for 'em playing that high, but good exposure I guess and as you say they may do well! Who knows
