I expected Foals to be announced in the initial line up. Thoughts on them still appearing?

low, they have no new material since their last appearance (where they subbed the Other) and are on a break to record their new album.

playing a few European festivals, but likely just for some easy cash while they're away for the year.

has there ever been a bigger bunch of nobheads than these?

The lad on the right looks about twelve. I feel old.

Going back to the 3rd headliner, I would love it to be someone huge (Led Zep for example), but I'm preparing myself for disappointment.

Still lots on the line up that I'm interested in seeing though and if Van Morrison is on the acoustic stage on Sunday night, may well finish the festival with a good sing along.

How long until the, 'long time lurkers' who've only had an account for 8 seconds start telling us his mate who works in the Glastonbury IT department knows that it's The Stone Roses, but he can't name him as he won't get any more info coming from him.

Requirements for role: Username must be related to either The Happy Mondays, The Stone Roses or Oasis.

I am holding out hope for someone huge, Pink Floyd namely, but I just know it won't happen. Still as you say a great lineup.

.... the Glastonbury IT department ...

That's made me laugh, a lot.

Once upon a time and only quite briefly, I guess i classed as "the Glastonbury IT department". :P

Are you under the impression that they're some sort of mega-powerful corporation or something?

Instead of a farmer, his daughter, and a bunch of hicks and oddballs (meant in the nicest way) that just happened to stumble into doing something that not-by-design has happened to become the best festival in the world?

I love the different way that Glastonbury does things - and it works, very well - but from what I see and what I know, and with the contrast I have sat here from other festivals, being organised or professional are not really the sorts of words that most people would apply to them in any normal business sense (tho I'm sure much is done in an exemplary manner).

"But industry insiders have again insisted there is no basis to the growing Roses rumours.

Our well-placed source told the M.E.N.: “The Roses are definitely not doing Glastonbury this year, 100 per cent not.”

As much as I'd like it to be the Stone Roses, this latest flurry of betting means nothing... Betting was also suspended on Taylor Swift wasn't it?

I do like to believe (although I know I'm probably wrong) that something fell through, and nobody realised the Roses were about to become active with a new album, the latest interest and betting prompted Glastonbury to make a last minute booking but can't announce it until the Stone Roses have made all their announcements... but it ain't happening, what you have there is essentially fan-fiction made up in my own head.

Nah, I was parodying one of the users who come on here to spout drivel about the Roses playing. The IT department bit was part of the parody

Why people take any sort of indication from betting agencies is beyond me, odds are no more than an indication of who the public feel are likely to win/headline aren't they? Not based on any evidence apart from a feeling withing the public. Or am I massively missing something? I don't bet on anything ever.

I've always imagined all of this being organised from one desktop computer running Windows 98 in Michael Eavis's garage. I'm glad that it's not too far from that image.

Daily Express and quite a few online sites running with the Stone Roses/William Hill story...

the money has gone on a number of different acts at different points over the last 2 months or so, and there's no reason to think the money is going on the right act this time just because it's going on one particular act.

Of all the names getting chucked around, the Roses are the ones I think are about the least likely of all, tho given my record this year that probably means it's them. :P

things have had a bit of an upgrade since I was last at the farmhouse so it's changed a bit now (and it might actually look more like other businesses now), but you're about spot on except it was more of a shack than a garage.
