Squire was 100% still there - as they dropped out due to him breaking his collarbone mountain biking (the health of the session player from Hot Chocolate/Simply Red was thankfully not an issue at this point).

They were sh1t by all accounts when they last did it as a fully functioning band - so can't see how it would be loads better with no rehearsal or warm-ups. (Plus they're rubbish live… and generally on record latterly for that matter.)

I used to obsess about headliners at T in the Park. Then I realised that a festival is a chance to see bands you wouldnt go to anywhere else and I've found many firm favourites since (Frank Turner!!) I'm quietly hoping for BOwie but que sera sera!

That night was a case of majority rule in the group and most people being too poleaxed to move.

I didn't stay for all of it.

Like the year before I wandered off on my own, this time to see Spiritualized I think.

In 2003 I was the only one out of 12 of us who went to see Radiohead headlining instead of Razorlight (think it was them) on some smaller stage.
