Liam would sound worse now.

Having seen Noel last month I say he'd be stupid to reform. Money talks though.

I suspect after a few recorded gigs, the only people interested in listening to Liam butcher the songs would be people who can't admit they are past it and people mainly kids who didnt see them previously.

I'll keep my memories as they are. Oasis were the first band I got into which were mine. Not just what my dad liked, so I'll always have a soft spot for them.

Noel, I'd see again. Oasis though is for the past. I hope they don't reform.

He does'nt sound worse now believe it or not! check on youtube the charity gig he did for the charlatans drummer and when he performed with the who a few months back. Sounds much better

queuing through the night? I dunno, I've never done it. Getting a central camping spot just isnt that important to me anymore.

I did absolutely love camping in row mead though. If I was younger I'd probably do it...waking up in the heart of the festival is ace.

We should be getting dropped off around midnight to 1am... We have heard about people doing it before and we thought we'd try it. Plus I think the best time to have a nap is early Wednesday, wake up in the afternoon and have a walk - we have about 7 newbies with us this year, so that might sway it... They may not like the sound of it!

I think it could be a laugh if you've got plenty of booze and your queue-neighbours are good people. If it's raining and you're with a bunch of misery guts I suspect it could be quite a traumatic experience!

taking that nap is easier said than done - i've planned to do it once i arrive at festivals in the past and it almost never happens. the sheer euphoria of being on site will not allow you to just sleep the day away when you could be exploring, drinking and having fun

That's what we did last year and it wasn't a problem. Does get quite cold in the queue though, so bring layers.

I did manage a nap after setting the tent up, but I fell asleep on the grass outside and got badly sunburned for the rest of the weekend.

Ive just lookd at the line up for 2004 and there were good acts on almost every other stage that night. Why were you all watching oasis???

That's a bloody good point, its not like there was much of a buzz left around them by that time. I can remember not bothering to get a ticket for Wembley stadium in 2000 because half of the band had left and their output was on the wane, having previously been a massive fan.

Ended up going to Magaluf instea...

I'm doing that this year Russ. Would you massively advise against it? Is it not a good idea...

In 2013 we arrived at gate C at around 7.30am, bit of a queue and in and set up in the middle of Park Home/Dairy by 9.30am - I wouldn't think queuing through the night would be worth it in truth, I would imagine it takes a lot out of you for Wednesday and I would rather have a better time inside the fence, all personal opinion though.

Bang on. The 2010 queue (if you can call it that, it was a debacle) for Gate D was fucking brilliant. We made friends with the folks we were squashed up against and kept bumping into them throughout the week and catching up with how things were going. 2013 it got plenty cold, people weren't that chatty and I smoked about a dozen blunts in the queue just for something to keep me entertained.

Worth it though, we were onsite by 7:30am, set up by 8, had a kip and met the neighbours when we woke up and were refreshed and out into the wild by lunchtime. We also bagged spots on the elusive back row at the top of South Park (best view in the site).

I think people are missing the obvious.

Muse are headlining Rock Werchter on Sunday which is AN HOUR ahead.

Plenty of time to start at 8pm their time and play until 10, jump in their personal super sonic jet and fly to Glastonbury just in time to parachute onto the pyramid stage at 10pm are time for a slightly later than usual start.

Really obvious when you think about it actually.

Agree with that. He seemed to be singing towards the end of the Beady Eye years.

As crap as it was otherwise, I thought the Oasis songs beady eye did in 2013 were better than the 2004 performance. Liam seemed to be loving it, compared to the sullen bollocks of the latter Oasis performances.

If we believe blur and fmac and thing about other shows, then libertines/Madonna??

Libertines wouldn't make much sense - do they have any UK shows before Glastonbury to sell out? holding back their announcement wouldn't make a bit of difference concerning Reading/TITP/other fests they're headlining. plus that'd be the most underwhelming result

considering Madonna's own shows are ludicrously priced themselves i doubt it, but i wouldn't write her totally off - would definitely make sense to hold off her announcement until right before the festival in order to sell more tickets to her own shows

I enjoyed the gig, i like Beady eye and to see em open that stage then was decent. but i agree, it all depends on how Liam is. in 2004 he would of had the attitude to take it for granted. Now if they headlined i believe, he'd respect it a lot more and hopefully put a bit more effort into it.

Yeah - we've arrived around this time the past few years - getting in at 10-11. There's still a shit-load of space everywhere at that time. Not sure there's a massive benefit in camping out all hours.

your guess?

despite the drummer's firm denial, Blur still seem like the number one option to me. maybe the festival really did think they had a third headliner nailed down and had to literally scramble to find another when that headliner said no so asked a very last minute favour from Albarn.

or it's Prince and we've all been duped

Great point .. You're on to something I think!

Maybe they can come on their new super Drones they seem ever so keen on bumbling on about! Maybe Matt is t losing the plot after all and this was part of his master plan!

Since when was Madge ruled out and how?

Is there 100% ruled out information for any of the following?

Macca, Prince, Madonna, Stone Roses, Rodger Waters/Floyd/The Wall,

Surely Fleetwood Mac and Blur saying they are not playing it means they are not playing it

Bands saying they are not playing when they have "exclusivity" agreements means their comments (and those agreements) are equally worthless.

I've done it for the past 3 festivals. Each time we've slept in the car overnight and then queued up at around 6am. I found last year that this tactic was no longer worthwhile. The poor nights sleep coupled with the long queue really takes it out if you.

This year we will be queueing up from the wee hours like yourself. Rather than 45 minutes sleep in a car followed by 2 hours of queuing, it'll no sleep and Max half an hours queuing up the hill to gate D. It's worth it for first dibs, but it won't feel like it for much of Wednesday...
