Since when was Madge ruled out and how?

Is there 100% ruled out information for any of the following?

Macca, Prince, Madonna, Stone Roses, Rodger Waters/Floyd/The Wall,

Surely Fleetwood Mac and Blur saying they are not playing it means they are not playing it

Madge was never ruled out - just seems unlikely, but as i said, i wouldn't totally rule her out at all

Paul McCartney is a european festival exclusive elsewhere, so he's out

Emily seemingly (although not definitively) ruled out Prince in a tweet a couple of days ago

Stone Roses were never ruled in to begin with

Floyd would need to regroup (which isn't happening) / Rodger Waters just ain't gonna headline

every act rumoured to headline has a myriad of factors ruling them out - but at this stage, one of them surely has to be the headliner, so somebody is lying / something has changed

Regarding Madonna. I made a claim on here a while ago about some information which points to her possibly playing due to her being in the country at the time, which I found out through connections at work. I'm not going to go through it all in detail because I have no desire to be labelled a fraud or a crank again, although I'm sure you can see my previous posts. I wanted to pop on and say that I have had a further confirmation of her being in the UK at that time through somebody else in the hospitality industry. I am now certain that the third headliner is her.

i believe it could well be her - well, just about as much as it could be any of the other rumoured acts. it'd definitely fit in with the 'needs to sell tickets for their own shows' reason that Neil gave concerning the late announcement. i still think Blur are the most likely candidate, but i wouldn't be totally shocked if it did turn out to be Madonna

ha ha I forgot about that. The infamous guitar tuner.

What motivates people to come up with outlandish lies like that I wonder.

It's a tory thing. They just can't help it.

To be fair, I think he made that comment in jest and people believed he was serious, at least that's how it read to me with him never referring to it again.

You're probably right, on both counts...

To me madonna seems more likely than either FM or blur. Plus she's female.

Of course it would be a grim booking, but it seems possible.

my fav was when nal had loads on here believing radiohead were headlining a few years ago...he did admit it was a wind up mind

There were unhappy people at the efests meet yeah. But as it turned out they played the secret Park gig.

I know people often say they "don't care about the third headliner" but it's getting to the point where I'm so happy with the rest of the lineup that I forget there is a third headliner still to come.

The lineup is genuinely fucking great. And add in the rest who aren't on the poster. Already dreading the clashes.

Yeah I feel like this. Only problem is we don't know who's on at the same time as the Sunday headliner (probably Chems on Other, but we're not 100% sure and I'm not fussed about them). Really wish the Mothership was on Sunday so I could stop worrying completely.

Same. Sunday headliner might be legendary, might be something that blows us all away, might be something we shrug our shoulders at. I'm sure it will please lots and piss off some whoever it is, but now we have some firm names (and some real favourites for me, as well as bands I'm keen to check out) it hardly seems to matter.

I want more of the regular lineup far more than the 3rd headliner. Waiting for Damien Rice, Modest Mouse and a few others I'm really hoping are on the bill.

There's no chance it will be Oasis, if they are going to play and reform it will be next year after Noel's latest album and tour runs its course. As for The Stone Roses, as great as it would be, it just don't seem likely, they would have to release new material and time is just running out for that to be done. If they're are going to play I reckon it's nailed on for 2016, with them releasing new material towards the end of this year.

Oasis, The Stone Roses and Catfish and the Bottlemen to headline 2016? Year of the lads
