Headliners 2015

Have they ever booked a 'heritage' headliner twice though? I know he's regularly releasing new material, but the majority will be wanting the same Beatles tracks.

it may well be! out of all of the rumoured acts he's one of the only ones who hasn't actually said 'no' at any time - just the European festival exclusive that's made it look unlikely (and i'm sure Glastonbury and whatever festival it was could come to some sort of an arrangement for that)

I reckon the arrangement would be similar to Metallica's last year, exclusive until all possible tickets for Glastonbury have been sold, then drop the exclusive tag.

Can you imagine the social media meltdown if after all of this time and speculation, it gets to June and they announce it on the Monday before the festival with a big Mumford's logo?

By then, most people will have found something they quite fancy seeing at the same time, so if the headliner isn't their bag they'll tootle off to that other thing.

I reckon that just by that fact whoever the headliner is has a harder battle to get the crowd there than if they'd been announced with the other bands last week.

Is KISS really that much of a stupid suggestion? They're 'one of those bands' Something different, probably draw a decent crowd, got the songs that people will know, fit into what Neil's said so far etc etc. As a one off headliner, I think you can't go wrong with KISS

I think people would care because of the amount of time they had took if it turned out to be them. There will be a percentage of people going who are relying on the Pyramid headliner as well if it turns out there's nowt else on the Sunday they fancy. Surely the crowd would be small if it was them though, taking everything into consideration.

They're still a very popular band.

And how much 'churn' is there with the Glastonbury attendees year-on-year? I don't have much of an idea, but I suspect it's big enough for there to be plenty who'd not seen Mumfords last time, as well as those who'd see them again.

I'd laugh my head off if it was them. If the third headliner isn't gonna be Blur (give up on Roses), then out of the names left I don't care if it is Mumford's, I'll go and see Chemical Brothers anyway.

If it was Mumford's I'd rather they stuck them on the Other stage and put the Chems on the Pyramid stage. Even though I know that's not what they'd choose...

The whole third headliner thing is very interesting. There's no losing really. If it's someone you like great. If not, there will be other options. I suppose for me I would like the festival to have a great big name 3rd headliner for no other reason than my affection for the place and wanting them to have a headliner they wanted rather than one they booked to fill the slot.
