Roger Waters, Bowie and the three living members of Led Zeppelin have all played before.

What a lovely dream act they would be for third headliner! Never happen though sadly. Tis the stuff of dreams. It's going to be something more mainstream , isn't it!?

If they have got a megastar such as Bowie or PF (I don't think they have) it actually makes sense to hold off as long as possible before announcing. As others have said they don't need the publicity or to sell tickets. So to suddenly announce "we've got Bowie, and it's in two weeks time" catches everyone off guard and would send the music community into meltdown. Hype would be instantaneous and would keep up until the festival. Announce it now and the hypes dies a little over the next two months.

Why does everyone keep saying Michael said completely different things tonight at the Q&A, ###### tweeted saying he didn't give away any of the line up?

The details I posted earlier (and other have too) were after the Q&A as everyone milled around waiting to get photos with Michael. He spoke to everyone who had a photo taken and it's all come from what he said to people then.

I don't know if #### saw these discussions or not.

i don't think they do have an act of such a high calibre, but that's how i see it as well. to just announce at the last minute 'oh yeah by the way Bowie/whoever is our last headliner' would be the biggest fuck you to every other festival

It would also be a colossal "fuck you" to everyone who bitched, moaned and cried over Kanye. Imagine returning your ticket only to find out its Bowie.

FFS! Now he's never going to do it.

A while ago I would never have made such a grand statement! I've given up on that dream now though. Well, almost given up. Bloody muscians. Tsk!

Could it be, when talking about 2 headliners, that there is also a big reveal for one last Other stage headliner? That has been the case in the last few years with QOTSA and Portishead coming out of the blue late in the day and not being on the bill when the initial posters came out.

The idea of Chris Martin being involved suggests one of his sleb buddies, rather than himself, I'd think.

Yeah this seems like the rational explanation.

It's McCartney.

Im now convinced. (Only as I've had a feeling it is him for ages)

McCartney "with a little help from his friends"

That would be a lovely thought.

I have to say that this has me quite excited for the possibilities.

i'm thinking that too. he knows his voice is shot and can't do it alone. Ringo on drums, Macca and 'friends'.

well that's the dream
