So when you had that 'oops I've made a terrible mistake...' moment - did a source tell you that they were definitely not headlining? How was it you were so sure, at that moment, that your info was wrong?

I've heard nothing further from that source.

It was ruled out because Emily categorically stated it's not Coldplay (which we knew when Scott interviewed Emily, about a week before we published that interview).

Why would they have to hold back an announcement for anything Chris Martin is doing?

If it's something he hasn't done before, or a special event for the festival?

Maybe he is guesting, as some have suggested.

We could probably put together guesses all day, each one as plausible/implausible as the next.

Edit: The idea of him on keyboard with Gilmour and Waters is both fascinating and kinda worrying

So it could be that they are trying to organize an event similar to The Global Citizen Earth Day held recently in Washington - an event to end poverty and prevent climate change.

This might fit in with ME comments about 2 bands/artists, and the reason there has been no announcement is that they are still putting details together.

It certainly fits in with the ethos of the festival.

Chris Martin being involved is far more likely a reference to him talking to another act and getting them to play Glastonbury.

i'm far more interested in Michael talking about how nice Fleetwood Mac's manager is tbh.

nice....for helping them out when they're stuck for a 3rd headliner? still got shows to play? bigger field? wait until June for IoW to sell as many tickets as they can?

Chris Martin loves an aul collaboration

He loves an aul cause

He loves Glastonbury

Stick em together and chuck em on the main stage at Glasto with lots of Beeb cameras looking and you have a very well promoted cause...........

Not something the Glastonbury organisers would be against now is it? Arranged and organised by someone they really like............who has influence with many an A list musical celeb across different genres..........

Sunday Night Headliner? A mini GlastoAid performance compered by Mr Coldplay, Chris Martin

Maybe the global ambassador and negotiator Sir Chris Martin OBF managed to broker an eleventh-hour deal with Mick F & his lovely manager

yup - Chris Martin is a global embassador for it, and the comments about No Doubt doing festies suggests it could be them - and more so because they've not got any Euro shows booked when they do have USA shows (and a big summer gap, for Europe, perhaps).

Thought I was clutching at straws with that.

I camped opposite the last two years (by the hanging baskets) and it was returned to normal last year.

Perhaps they felt that given how busy it got with Dolly it's safer this way but the uncertainty (probably naively) makes me think it could be something bigger.

All the bands at Globla Citizen Earth Day were american though, so surely if it's "two British bands" it'll be a different line-up to that - although Mary J Blige was there and she's confirmed for Glasto this year, but hey

Who are u suggesting is the other act with no doubt?

Would have to be a big one right?
