Don't think anyone confirmed it was Mensch. Didn't Eavis just say the band's manager and the Independent surmised that it was him based on his history of managing AC/DC (although that was years ago, which they conveniently skirted over)

a BBC Radio producer said Mensch was there with Eavis:

i really hope not, his guitar is too small

that's a new one :sarcastic:

He already played on this tour. Will be a job to avoid him headlining on next tour though.

nailed on IMO

ps Stu his manager said a couple of weeks ago that he has no UK festival dates lined up for next year IIRC

... in the Mensch twitter some girl responded that he is the manager to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers too...

are they on the table for Glasto?

Foo Fighters

Muse

Red Hot Chilli Peppers

wouldn't be that bad!

while i'd say there's pretty much no chance of those 3 being the headliners, RHCP do have a new album in the works which they've been recording for most of this year, and have said a few months ago that they hope to have it out and a world tour started by next summer. Mensch would have been well aware of their recording sessions and future plans during Glastonbury.

they certainly have enough hits (old and recent) and the stage presence for a headline slot.

not sure if playing IoW earlier this year counts against them though...

Ah gotcha. I thought it was all supposition based on this article

http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/glastonbury-2015-acdc-strongly-rumoured-by-us-to-headline-next-years-festival-as-eavis-gives-clues-to-three-booked-acts-9571372.html

Seems the tweet predates the article by a few hours though. Could still be supposition based on Eavis' quotes in the press conference?
