i'm not sure speculation based otherwise unreported comments from Michael Eavis according to a friend of someone who posted here is really much better than tabloid bollocks either.

I was stood 5 feet from Michael when he spoke about the Sunday headliner last night and posted about it directly in this thread as I was leaving the V&A.

Pretty much as close to a first hand account as you can get.

apologies, i was getting confused between people who attended and said Michael Eavis said XYZ afterwards while chatting to people.

so make that "otherwise unreported comments from Michael Eavis according to someone who posted here".

I'm so confused...

So what are we actually talking about here? A supergroup?

And with all due respect, none of those acts which played the Earth Day event mentioned in the article are big enough, 'supergroup' or not.

And then it mentions members of Pink Floyd and Queen?! It's like something somebody would write on here at 3am on a Friday night

Forgive my cynicism, it's all just a bit weird.

- it doesn't tie in with "the band aren't anymore", as there is neither a band, nor at any time were they british.

- an all-star charity gig where they might get to play a couple of their own songs will have no impact whatsoever on an act's on shows.

I disagree, if it was Chris Martin + others, you could definitely argue that the quote fits well enough. If she said "He is british, but the collection of other artists joining him arent british" would be a little less cryptic.

The 2nd point is also debateable, whether there is a large number of artists/bands playing a few songs (less likely I guess), or a handful of artists/bands joining CM for more songs (more likely), there would be a concern about impacting ticket sales. Why risk it? Particularly if the glasto appearance isn't going to be all about them.

Only time will tell..!

We are talking about a Glastonbury headliner. Surely a cobbled together coupling of acts doesn't equate to a headliner.

I'm very confused, and first and foremost I think we need to return to ignoring what Eavis says. He has thrown us off track countless times in the past.

If it's two acts .. Then why and where has all the talk of this grand scale charity event has come from? This would have to consists of at least 5 acts to work properly .. And likely to need many more.

Two headliners isn't such a crazy idea .. Can it not just be a case of two joint headliners like other festivals have done in the past? Maybe two acts who are similar sized but not deemed big enough to headline alone? Would make a lot more sense than the other possibilities being thrown around!

Gilmour and Waters w/ Martin is probably as good as it's looking on the whole just now

I would fucking love No Doubt to play, not headline but they'd be brilliant

Genuine question because I know so little of their stuff... maybe one song I think.

Have they anywhere near enough stuff for such a high slot?

I can't take the idea seriously!
